In Febuary of 2021 I had a right TKR under the care of Mr Cope and the team at Fulwood Hall Hospital. I had concerns as a younger patient (44) that i may face (another) battle to find a practitioner to listen to my concerns and not prejudge both my condition and my age. I found Mr Cope to be refreshing in both his approach and honesty, with regard to my management. I felt as though he explained the rationale for my treatment well and provided evidence where i needed. This served to support me to make decisions about my care that i truly believe have improved my outcomes. On a personal level I found him both approachable and pleasant, and I had no concerns about the procedure as i felt the reassurance of Mr Cope's manner and expertise. The Team at Fulwood Hall Hospital were exceptional - each and every one. The team supported me to push through the very painful reality of hard physio following the operation, and I really believe following their advice (even when it feels impossible!) has given me a remarkable outcome. I am aware that for the future i need to look after my "new knee" but already it feels like i have reclaimed a large amount of my mobility and i could not have done this without Mr Cope and the Fulwood Hall team.

From pre op consultantation to post op interview, Mr. Cope kept me informed of the procedure for my knee replacement at Renacres. He answered all the questions I had and put me at ease regarding the concerns I had. The op was a great success and my mobility is greatly Improved. I have reduced my pain killers considerably and hope that they will not be necessary in due course. I continue with the exercises to help mobility. Thank you to Mr. Cope and all his colleagues at Renacres who put me at my ease. All were professional and courteous during my stay and the follow up physio was first class.

I consider myself very fortunate to have Mr Cope as my Consultant. His professionalism, kindness and general approach is excellent. He takes the time to listen and answers all questions in a way that the patient can fully understand. I have had a knee replacement and unfortunately will probably need the other knee replaced in the not too distant future plus a hip. I would certainly want Mr Cope to continue to treat my problems as I have 100% trust and confidence in him. I could not possibly suggest any area where Mr Cope could improve his excellent service and care.

Mr Cope took over my care from another consultant and, due to covid, I did not meet him until the day of my operation. I did not find this ideal but recognise the circumstances. However, delighted with the result and seeing the X-ray and having time to discuss the future at the follow up consultation has been really helpful. I hope to continue under his care for the operation on my other knee when needs replacing.

Mr Cope was very friendly and reassuring from my first consultation with him. My operation went well, and the care was outstanding in Renacres. Six weeks on I’m walking very well without crutches, I would certainly recommend Mr Cope in fact I already have.
