Mr Alam went through the whole process very carefully before and after the operation after two weeks went for physio the leg was healing so well was told not to return as excised was not needed would recommend him to every body

Mr Alam has given me so much more than a new knee. From our very first meeting he was clear, realistic, knowledgeable and communicated well with me and my family about the surgical options and results. I had a complex surgery which I'd put off for much longer than I should of due to the scale of the surgery and the recovery time needed. Mr Alam had various thoughts and suggestions of approaches that would give me the best outcome. With the help of his Medical Secretary Megan, we found a date that worked and committed to the plan. I am 12 weeks post surgery now and have already seen the benefits of the knee reconstruction. I would 100% recommend Mr Alam. He is a very passionate and experienced orthopedic surgeon.

When I first met Dr Alam I was a bit nervous about the surgery on my knee but he soon put me at ease, As the consultation went on he explained what he was going to do in a way that I could understand, how long it may take to recover and what limitations I may have while recovering, he also answered all my questions in a way that I was happy with. Dr Alam came to check up on me each night that I was in hospital to see how I was and we had a really good talk and had a few laughs as well. It’s now just over 4 months since my surgery I’ve seen Dr Alam twice for a review and the last one was to say he was really happy with how I was doing and that I was discharged which really made me happy. As for my knee you wouldn’t really know I’d had surgery there is hardly any scaring. While I’ve been out walking my 2 spaniels people have asked about my knee and have been impressed by his work, a few of them who need knee replacement asked would I recommend him and my answer was a definite yes. I can’t praise him enough.

I originally met Mr Alam in Nov 2017 which resulted in a very successful TKR operation of my left knee in Feb 2018. I met him again at the end of 2018 to discuss my right knee, after an MRI scan Mr Alam realised a TKR was needed which was successfully performed in Nov 2019. Again he was very honest about any pain involved in the procedure and the on-going hard work to get back to full recovery. I'm now free of pain and walking well. Mr Alam is a very kind,caring person who very easy to talk with and takes the time to listen to any concerns and advises accordingly. A person couldn't ask for a more caring consultant.

After years of constant, often severe pain which felt like a knife sticking in my right knee, I was referred to and was seen by Mr Alam, who after various tests, advised a right total knee replacement. I was immediately reassured by his extremely pleasant manner and thorough, honest explanations of what would happen, what I could expect and the commitment required by me in undertaking post operative exercises for a successful outcome. My pre and post operative care was excellent. I was kept informed at all stages and was treated with kindness, respect and humour. I am now eight weeks post operative and already walking further than I have been able to for several years. Although I am aware, as Mr Alam told me, that rehab is a long but steady progression, I feel better both physically and mentally than I have for a long time. I no longer have to plan my days around how far I would have to walk which limited my activities and social life. My family is delighted. Quite simply, Mr Alam really has changed my life. Thank you.
