I have recently had Bi-Lateral Cataract Surgery, at BMI Sarum Road Hospital, Winchester, where Mr Clifford was my Consultant. I had never had surgery of any kind, prior to this and was a little 'Nervous' to say the least. From my initial consultation through to my post operative consultation/check-up, Mr Clifford proved to be exactly the type of Consultant the I needed. He immediately put me at ease, described the procedure in fine detail and informed me of the benefits and any possible complications that I may encounter. I never felt rushed into making any decisions, and he answered the myriad of questions that I presented to him, clearly and to my satisfaction without me ever feeling that I was taking up his valuable time. The Surgery itself was very straight forward, with the right eye taking maybe 15-20 minutes and two weeks later, the left eye which seemed like a matter of a few minutes. The great bonus for me was that I was awake all through the surgery, having only had anaesthetic eye drops, and felt no pain what so ever. Again, Mr Cliffords professionalism and ability to put me at ease, shone through. I feel that I have two new eyeballs, and only now realise how bad my sight had gotten. It was a pleasure to have met Mr Clifford and would thoroughly recommend him to anyone requiring the services of an Opthalmologist.

I was treated for both my cataracts by Mr Clifford, and found him to be competent and totally professional. Every detail of the procedure was explained, and my questions were answered matter of factly. I was put at ease, over what was a nervous time for me. There was no sense of being rushed, and in a follow up, I had the opportunity to ask for further information about the recovery times. I am very short sighted and it was explained to me that I could have the focal length of the new lens, to give me similar sight as before, with my original spectacles. This worked perfectly, and my eyesight is perfect with my glasses. In short, I could recommend him to anyone who needs eye surgery.
