I was amazed how efficiently the whole thing went - from making the first appointment to see Prof Funk, through to the surgery and the aftercare. Prof Funk was very professional and managed to carry out two MRI scans (as he needed to see more details after the first one) and the diagnosis all within my first visit. I found the whole process very comforting despite how much pain I was in. The surgery went very well, and 2 years on, I have full mobility and strength without any pain which is fantastic. I am now back climbing! Thank you so much to Prof Funk and all of the team!

From arriving at the hospital, I was taken straight away & I just wanted to express my appreciation of thanks.  Thank you to Prof Lennard Funk for being very gentle when he could see how much pain I was in. His nurse for kindly taking notes for me when I asked her. Prof Funk advising me that treatment needed to be done that day due to the amount of pain I was in. The Radiology nurse, Olga who was just lovely & so caring & to Dr Basu for his kindness, patience & reassurance. Having had pain in my shoulder for 6 months I saw Prof Funk and had my MRI on the same day. Whole process in one stop which was amazing. He identified a small tear in one of my tendons. As it hadn't got better despite my physio we discussed at length the role of surgery and I felt very at ease with the process. My surgery couldn't have gone smoother. I and out few hours. I had been warned that it would be painful for months but it really hasn't been. I only took pain killers for a couple of days and my shoulder feels well on the road to recovery.
