Mr Longstaff carried out an athroscopy on my knee. Fantastic care from first referral to discharge. Clear diagnosis and description of treatment, and the confidence of Mr Longstaff in the procedure and the prognosis helped to calm any nerves. Was walking within 3 hours of procedure, no pain, and back to normal day to day activities within week. Now 4 weeks since procedure, been on holiday and walked 8 miles round Pompeii in heat with no ill effects whatsoever. No scarring, no pain, feels like a new knee. Absolutely delighted with outcome. Would thoroughly recommend Mr Longstaff and would have total confidence in him if I require any further procedures.

He asked if I had any questions at each appointment, took time to answer and explain what I would be going through.

After suffering severe knee pain, I was referred to Mr Longstaff, who quickly arranged a MRI scan and explained the problem was a severe bucket handle cartilage tear. He discussed my options, and l opted for key hole surgery. On the morning of the operation Mr Longstaff and his team, were very helpful explaining everything, making me feel less nervous. I had a spinal anaesthetic, was fully awake, but couldn't feel anything at all . The operation went very well, and l left hospital the following day, and received great follow up care. I would recommend Mr Longstaff and his team 100% . Thank you all. I had my surgery at NEWCASTLE NUFFIELD.

Following my replacement knee operation in Dec 2016 I can honestly say that my experience from pre op has been great. The operation itself was carried out to plan with information and advise given to me being spot on. I am delighted with my recovery and while sometimes painful doing the exercises it has definitely been worthwhile. Being a keen cyclist I did have my concerns about how flexible and mobile I would be however, after 3 months I am not back to cycling and my fitness in general is great. Dr Longstaff and his team thank you for everything.
