Mr Laurence Whitefield

I had cataract surgery on both eyes by Mr Whitefield on the NHS. He was charming, took real time to put me at ease. Explained procedure and aftercare without making me nervous. I didn't feel a thing a very successful operation and after care was again superb. I had complication of glaucoma. If you have an eye problem I couldn't recommend him highly enough.

Mr Whitefield performed cataract surgery on both my eyes. I had a complication in my left eye. He was absolutely superb, he took time to explain the procedure in detail to me, he was reassuring, sympathetic and caring. I have rarely come across a specialist who is so excellent and supportive. Can't recommend him highly enough. If you are lucky enough to get him you will be in a very safe pair of hands.

I found Mr Whitefield charming and engaging. I recently had a cataract operation. Everything was explained he came round checked on me before and after as he did with all the other patients I saw. The operation was quick and painless. I have seen him on a number of occassions leading up to the operation, every time patient courteous took time to explain in full . A very knowledgable surgeon. I highly recommend him you won't find better.

I have been going to Mr Whitefield for some 3 years. He saved the sight of an eye and treated me for glaucoma. He was charming, explained all procedures carefully, without putting the wind up me. I found him highly knowledgable, careful, and very caring. I could not recommend him highly enough, you will be in very safe hands.

I am so so glad I chose Dr Whitfield ! I found his care and attention to detail absolutely amazing he answered all my questions and any fears one might have about the cataract surgery to make everything crystal clear the surgery was performed with great care and skill by Dr Whitfield and now I have my complete vision back To anyone reading this who needs cataract surgery this eye surgeon in my opinion is the best and I will never look back

I was treated by Mr Whitefield twice during the pandemic for a lump on my eye. He was obnoxious and made me feel like I was wasting his time on both occasions. He also didn't seem to know what he was doing. This is the complete opposite of how one expects to be treated in both private or NHS care. I would not recommend him and instead seek advice from other opthamologists or eye consultants.

Mr Whitefield identified a serious problem, he explained what it was and how we were going to deal with it. He was courteous, caring, very patient indeed. He showed genuine concern and filled me with confidence. He was authorative and explained everything he did. I found him charming but more important he saved my eye. Couldn't recommend him highly enough.

I'm sure Mr Whitefield is an excellent surgeon of that I am sure and do not doubt. However, he seriously needs to work on his people skills. His whole attitude and the way I was spoken to today was downright rude and I found him to be abrupt and stand-offish. In all my years going to eye clinic appointments I have never experienced a doctor as rude or have ever been made to feel guilty or uncomfortable.

My daughter was in for a small minor op. Mr Whitefield made my daughter at ease. Shes was overthinking and panicking but the nurse and Dr really looked after her. I 100% recommend him.. A very kind and caring team.
