I had a complex total knee replacement by Mr Sarraf earlier this year, for a severely damaged and deformed knee caused by rheumatoid arthritis. Six months post surgery I would describe the results as miraculous. Before, I was in excruciating pain, had great difficulty walking, sleeping, sitting, standing, walking down kerbs/steps, stand up straight, & I was unsteady on my feet - all of which has been corrected. Apart from my quality of life, my self esteem has improved too. I appreciated the way Mr Sarraf gave consideration to the way my right foot stuck out, following previous surgery by another surgeon, which he wanted to correct by matching the angle when he did my left knee, so that my feet matched. He did listen to me when I said I didn't want them to match, because I thought I'd look like Charlie Chaplin with 2 feet sticking out. As it turns out, my right foot sticks out less noticeably now that my left knee/leg is straight. I also appreciate that Mr Sarraf is going to see me again in 6 months and possibly after that, to keep an eye on my knee. One thing I would have liked is to see my x-rays with the surgeon before and after surgery.

I have met Mr Khaled Sarraf before when he did a hip replacement for my husband and he not only answered any questions my husband had but he was also very kind to me. I found he had great patients and listened to what had to say and answered what I wanted to know which I found very reasuring. This time round it is me that needs his help. I met him in clinic and he remembered my husband and myself. After shaking hands with us both and saying hello and how are you I told him my story of what had happened to me.He was very kind and was sorry what had happened to me. He did the normal tests that needed to be done and sent me for an xray and after reading my results he then discussed what was to be done. There was two ways I could go with the treatment he explained them both to me and we came to the conclusion together. He made me so comfortable that I felt I had known him for years and there was nothing I felt I couldnt ask him. I was very surprised at how efficient how the clinic was run. I didnt have to wait for ages for my appointment I was called on time or even before. I found that everyone working in the department were smiling and helpful and it was a very nice atmosphere. It has been my experience that this comes from the top, if the doctors are happy it passes on to the rest of department and that is very nice after all we are there because there is some thing wrong with us and and it is a worry so it is nice to see smiling faces it tends to relax you. I have thought about improvements and really the only one I could say is the metals chairs are not as comfortable as the leather chairs with arms.

Mr Khaled Sarraf recently performed a left hip replacement for me. He has a pleasant and gentle manner. Mr Sarraf is always clear and understanding at the consultations and willing to answer any questions. The operation has been very successful with no problems at all. I would highly recommend him.

I have known Mr Sarraf now since November 2017 when he operated on my broken femur as an emergency in St Mary's. Later in 2018 he performed an arthroscopy on my right knee followed by a total knee replacement on 3 May 2019. I have nothing but praise for him. He is kind, efficient, always ready to listen and to inform me of what to expect. All three operations were successful and I have every trust in his expertise. He and his team are all fabulous and nothing is too much trouble. I believe all these qualities come from the top and am so glad that I was allocated him when I fell. I am due - unfortunately - for a hip replacement and am delighted that Mr Sarraf and his team will be taking care of me again. He is surrounded by some really wonderful people - the nurse Carlota at the Fracture Clinic at St Mary's, his pa Marilyn Dominque and the Registrar Costas deserve special thanks and recognition - as do all those I have come across during my various visits to St Mary's and Charing Cross Hospitals.
