I was a patient of Mr Kevin McMillan at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham for Oral Surgery to fix an open bite that I’d had as a child. My experience from first meeting him has been so overwhelmingly positive - he is a thoroughbred professional, and incredibly skilled in his work. Mr McMillan was very clear in his treatment plan for the procedure, and always made it a point to communicate the rationale leading to the desired outcome. Given it was a major surgery, I spent a lot of time researching my case, and read studies of similar cases and what treatment plans looked like, what really gave me confidence was Mr McMillan’s knowledge on not only the functional element of fixing my bite, but also the aesthetic elements of the procedure. For example, a potential risk of impaction in upper jaw surgery is undesirable upturning of the nose / nostril asymmetry - something that is minimised by an experienced surgeon. I couldn’t be happier with both elements, my bite is incredible and my looks are natural and proportional. I was incredibly thankful to have Mr McMillan as my maxiofacial surgeon

Mr McMillan provided me with a 10/10 plastic surgery service experience. I had tissue removed from my lip and was quite concerned how surgery would leave my lips looking, I am so happy I chose to trust Mr McMillan as my lip looks just as it did before the tissue growth, no visa me scaring and certainly no bad experience. Mr McMillan was made me feel comfortable the whole way through my treatment at the Westbourne medical centre. Thank you for being so kind, sensitive towards my nervousness and for doing such a great job of the surgery oh my lip. Before the surgery I felt very self- conscious of the tissue on my lip, but not I can smile freely knowing it is no longer there. I can’t thank you enough! Best wishes Faye
