I had a great experience with Dr Akhtar during a scheduled knee surgery. I particularly appreciated the very clear explanations covering medical terminology in non medical terms for me to understand clearly. Kash spent lots of time going through the range of possible outcomes and how we would address each of these should they materialize, treatment plans, timelines, etc Spent time answering ALL my questions. Great follow on treatment as well. In a number of our conversations Kash quoted research in his field and how that would apply or read across to my particular case and circumstances. Finally, I think the best endorsement I can provide is that I recommended Dr Akhtar to my sister as well post my surgery and rehab and she was equally favourably impressed and satisfied with the consultation received and Dr Akhtars conclusions and recommendations.

Mr Kash Akhtar is a wonderful doctor o I would highly recommend his very effective and quick at identifying the problem that I've had for over a year. He was very understanding of my situation and gave me the best course of treatment to allow me to return to elite levels of play after recovery.

After months of pain/discomfort thinking I'd had a minor strain or ligament issue after skiing I was eventually diagnosed by Mr Akhtar with an osteochondral fracture. From the outset he took care and time to explain everything and to provide guidance around recovery - including why surgery was not the best long term option (which I appreciated). Despite taking a long time to heal, the injections and scans ordered were reassuring and showed progress - and were talked through with care. All in all his manner was excellent and advice helpful. I also appreciated his coordination with my physio throughout as part of my recovery. Would recommend for sure.

As a highly active and very sporty 58 year old, I was obviously mightily dismayed, to be informed (May 21) that I had potentially torn my ‘meniscus’ in my right knee whilst playing my beloved tennis. Having undergone various ‘first class’ physiotherapy sessions my Physio, decided to referral me to a specialist in Sports, Exercise and Musculoskeletal medicine for further investigation. Following an MRI, this duly confirmed that I had in fact torn the ‘root meniscus’ which unfortunately for me was slightly less straight forward than a standard surgical repair. As this was going to be a fairly technically orientated operation, the specialist recommended that I should undergo additional consultation with Mr Akhtar. From the very first moment that my wife and I met with Mr Akhtar it was clear that this guy was an expert in his field. Right from the word go, Mr Akhtar thoroughly and clearly explained the procedure and although slightly apprehensive, put my mind at rest. I went on to have my operation on 25/06 and am delighted to report that this has been a great success, totally down to the brilliance and subsequent aftercare of Mr Akhtar. Furthermore I would throughly recommend ‘Kash’ who I now classify almost as a friend to anyone in a similar situation to my own. Adam Gadenne
