Very good all round care. Explained fully my operation. He never rushes the consultation which could means you could be seen later than your appointment time if there are patients before you. I prefer this approach rather than the approach taken by other Drs who if they are running late simply rush you through in minutes and dont listen to your concerns or fully answer your questions. My surgery was a success and my sight was nearly fully restored (tumour removed that was stretching my optic nerve). I will be forever grateful to the good Dr

After 8 months of suffering sciatica and having seen a number of specialists, I was finally referred to Mr Gnanalingham at The Alexandra Hospital's neurosurgery clinic. His manner was pleasant and informative and he gave me a lot of confidence in his advice. And, most importantly he sent me for a new scan and was able to diagnose a trapped nerve in my back. Following the scan, he discussed the options open to me to proceed further, which were an operation to remove some bone from my spine or an epidural injection to reduce the inflammation in the nerve endings. I opted for the injection and attended The Alexandra Hospital early on a Friday morning. I was made very comfortable in a pleasant room and Mr Gnanalingham came to see me around 8am. He made me feel relaxed and comfortable and I went to theatre. The procedure was carried out under sedation and my next memory is of waking up, back in my room. I was discharged late afternoon and saw Mr Gnanalingham again a fortnight later for a review. 4 weeks on, I feel that my pain has been reduced by around 75% and I am grateful to have found a doctor who has been able to give me some relief. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Gnanalingham to anyone with a similar problem.

I arranged to see Mr Gnanalingham in May 2019 after a long standing disc issue flared up and left me unable to walk and in unbearable pain. Mr Gnanalinghams secretary was so unbelievably caring and helpful and ensured I was seen and scanned within 24 hours of my initial contact. I found Mr Gnanalingham to be extremely knowledgeable, professional and empathetic and he completely understood as a Mum of three young children, the impact this injury was having on my life. His prognosis was delivered with care and he was quick to recommend treatment. After trying an epidural injection, I trusted Mr Gnanalingham to proceed with a spinal surgery. I saw him on the morning of the operation and after surgery. He provided me with all the information needed to make a full recovery. It has been 14 weeks since the operation and my back and nerve pain has completely subsided. I will be eternally grateful to Mr Gnanalingham and Vaani for their help and would 100% recommend them to anyone.

Having had debilitating nerve pain in my back and leg for over 6 months I eventually made an appointment to see Mr Gnanalingham at The Alexandra Hospital. After reviewing my MRI scan he diagnosed L3/4 lytic spondylolisthesis & foraminal stenosis. From my first appointment with Mr Gnanalingham he put me totally at ease. I found him to be extremely patient, helpful and informative. He reviewed my scan in detail with myself and my husband and explained the possible treatment options. His advice at this stage was to manage my condition in the most minimally invasive way so as to avoid surgery. I decided to take Mr Gnanalinghams advice and had a spinal steroid injection to manage my pain in August this year. The care I received throughout the procedure was excellent and Mr Gnanalingham kept me fully informed and helped make the experience as stress free as possible. I am happy to say that my pain has reduced significantly. I am currently working with my physiotherapist on my strength and flexibility and will happily continue to take Mr Gnanalinghams advice on managing my condition. I have complete confidence in recommending Mr Gnanalingham as I have found him to be extremely approachable, caring, helpful and professional. I must also mention Mr Gnanalinghams PA, Vaani. Since our first conversation she has been so kind, helpful and efficient. She always returns calls and emails and nothing is too much trouble. She has been a pleasure to deal with.

I was recently treated by this wonderful Doctor at The Alexandra hospital. The way he treats patients is exemplary. Upon referral I was sent to Mr Gnanalingham, his treatment and his mannerism was so pleasant to see, his secretary was emailing me to keep me upto date with my appointments. He explained my scans thoroughly, his treatment from admission to discharge was lovely, upon my follow up appointment I told him my epidural had worked. He said he would be happy to give me the epidural periodically. The biggest thing was that my injection was administered whilst I was under sedation, in the past I was given injections in theatre whilst I was awake. I would highly recommend Mr Gnanalingham and his team.
