I was referred to Kanna following a fall which knocked me out and saw me admitted to the Neuro ward at Salford Royal hospital. Initial scans showed a brain haemorrhage & fractured skull. He was reassuring and supportive and arranged for more scans so he could assess the situation. I then saw him 3 times over 6 months as I continued my recovery. He did a second scan 6 months later and showed me on screen the improvement. At all times he was very professional, reassuring and gave sound advice both on the physical and mental side and reassured me throughout my recovery. He was also very helpful in helping me get my driving licence back. I would recommend anyone with similar injuries to go and see him.

Mr Kanna Gnanalingham removed a pituitary tumour in May 2023 which had caused the condition called Acromegaly. I cannot fault the care I have received, prior to the operation, the actual operation, and the follow up care. I am so grateful to him for his expertise - he has improved the quality of my life significantly.

After some years of regular sciatica type pain in my left leg and hip, I was referred to ManchesterNeuro by my osteopath in spring 2022 as the frequency of episodes was increasing and I was in agony when I walked only a short distance. Mr. Gnanalingham diagnosed the problems with my spine and recommended epidural steroid injections as a first line treatment to determine if that would give sufficient relief and to confirm the site of the problem. The injections did offer some relief but it was short lived. Mr Gnanalingham operated on my spine in August 2022, removing bone and disc tissue and fitting a spinal clamp to the L4/5 position in order to relieve pressure on my spinal cord. After some 3 months recovery, I found I could progressively resume my active lifestyle. I now run, golf and garden as before on a daily basis and I have spent quite a few days skiing this winter; I have my life back! Throughout the period of treatment and aftercare I found Mr. Gnanalingham very professional, easy to deal with and caring. The administrative service is prompt, efficient and well informed. I have no hesitation in recommending ManchesterNeuro to anyone suffering chronic spinal problems.

I am so glad that I was referred to Mr Gnanalingham because he took his time assessing my back injury and did not look to rush me into an unnecessary operation. He suggested to wait and see how things develop over a few months as he felt it could correct itself, which it did. It would have been very easy for him to immediately recommend an operation but waiting and re-assessing meant that this could thankfully be avoided.

Having had a deteriorating back condition over a number of years my expectations of once again enjoying a sporty and active life were diminishing. I was steered to MR Gnanalingham’s clinic. The appointment process was seamless, his time and attention to detail, especially to ensure I fully understood the causes of the pain and the actions available, were clear and concise. He managed my expectations fully. The procedure was delivered professionally as were the subsequent follow up reviews. Going forward I have confidence that my condition will be managed to give the best outcome and quality of life
