After some years of regular sciatica type pain in my left leg and hip, I was referred to ManchesterNeuro by my osteopath in spring 22 as the frequency of episodes was increasing and I was in agony when I walked only a short distance. Mr. Gnanalingham diagnosed the problems with my spine and recommended epidural steroid injections as a first line treatment to determine if that would give sufficient relief and to confirm the site of the problem. The injections did offer some relief but it was short lived. Mr Gnanalingham operated on my spine in August 22, removing bone and disc tissue and fitting a spinal clamp to the L4/5 position in order to relieve pressure on my spinal cord. After some 3 months recovery, I found I could progressively resume my active lifestyle. I now run, golf and garden as before on a daily basis and I have spent quite a few days skiing this winter; I have my life back! Throughout the period of treatment and aftercare I found Mr. Gnanalingham very professional, easy to deal with and caring. The administrative service is prompt, efficient and well informed. I have no hesitation in recommending ManchesterNeuro to anyone suffering chronic spinal problems.

I received excellent care from Mr Gnanalingham. I appreciated the opportunity for a virtual follow-up appointment to save a journey, and by sharing screens I was able to see everything as he carefully explained my MRI scan images. I am very happy with the care I received.

I have seen Mr. Gnanalingham for a couple of years now for diffuse pain in my back, groin and hip. All of my encounters with Mr. Gnanalingham have been very professional and pleasant. Mr. Gnanalingham obviously sees much worse cases than mine but I feel I was taken very seriously and with respect. He involved me in the diagnosis and treatment. In the end I was treated with a cortisone injection under Xray which has currently solved my pain issues. I especially appreciate his conservative approach to avoid invasive surgery when possible. As he said to me "we treat the symptoms" not the images. I completely trust his opinion and can highly recommend Mr. Gnanalingham.

Since the first consultation with Mr Gnanalingham, I knew I had come to the right neurosurgeon to help me. His thorough knowledge and investigations that were given were incredible. He also arranged for me to see other specialists where required to be 100% on my diagnosis and the problem at hand before any treatment. I ended up having foramen magnum decompression surgery and Mr Gnanalingham has been so informative before, and after this complex procedure. I have had a brilliant recovery and he has quite literally saved my life. I will forever be grateful. Thankyou so much.”

I was referred to Mr Gnanalingham as I had a lot of back pain that had be building up over 2/3 months prior to my appointment. Mr Gnanalingham arranged a virtual meeting very promptly. Immediately I felt he was very professional, caring and personable. He referred me for an MRI scan which I had the week after and the week after that met in person. He clearly explained the issue and we discussed the options/ best approach. We agreed the best course of action was a steroid injection and he added me to his next operation list a few days later at The Alexandra hospital. The procedure went very smoothly and pain relief was felt 3 days after the injection. Mr Gnanalingham is clearly a very experienced surgeon and based on my experience would recommend him. Vaani his PA is also very efficient arranging meetings and forwarding letters to GPs etc. Thank you for your help so far.
