I was referred to Mr Gnanalingham as I had a lot of back pain that had be building up over 2/3 months prior to my appointment. Mr Gnanalingham arranged a virtual meeting very promptly. Immediately I felt he was very professional, caring and personable. He referred me for an MRI scan which I had the week after and the week after that met in person. He clearly explained the issue and we discussed the options/ best approach. We agreed the best course of action was a steroid injection and he added me to his next operation list a few days later at The Alexandra hospital. The procedure went very smoothly and pain relief was felt 3 days after the injection. Mr Gnanalingham is clearly a very experienced surgeon and based on my experience would recommend him. Vaani his PA is also very efficient arranging meetings and forwarding letters to GPs etc. Thank you for your help so far.

I made an appointment with Mr Gnanalingham to discuss a problem l had had with unbearable pain in my leg and foot, for some years. I was prescribed various pain killers from my GP that did not help. I was finding a lot of difficulty walking and my day to day life was rather miserable. After a scan and meeting Mr Gnanalingham he knew exactly why l was in so much pain. He took the time to explain everything to me. I felt so at ease talking to him, he was so genuine and caring. A week later I had an injection in my spine. I am so pleased with my treatment because I have now got more than l could have asked for, quality of life! Thanks to Mr Gnanalingham and his care.

Following a fall in June which resulted in a fracture of my spine, I was referred to Mr. Gnanalingham at the Alexander Hospital, who, from the outset, took a thorough, pragmatic and holistic view of the problem. Through this conservative approach we discovered an earlier fracture alongside some further damage to my Spine. He painstaking went through scans, xrays, bone density etc., discussed pain relief, movement and gentle exercise. Taking care to explain the scans and xrays and possible outcomes. He also arranged face-to-face Zoom Consultations to make life easier for me, meaning I did not have to travel to and from hospital whilst in pain. Mr Gnanalingham also referred me to an Endocrinologist to discuss bone strengthening medication. I am now moving better and, in less pain, always a plus! He is a very patient, knowledgeable and caring Consultant who took the time to explain my situation in full. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

I was recommended to have a consultation with Mr Gnanalingham after I had suffered mini-stroke like symptoms. I was led to believe this was quite serious and could not wait for the 14 days I was told it would take for an appointment at my local hospital. Once I met with him everything moved at a real pace. Brain scans and Arterial scans were organised with ultimate efficiency. We had a number of face to face appointments and Teams meetings. I was kept up to date at every stage of my diagnosis and felt in very safe hands. Mr Gnanalingham puts you at ease from the first meeting and you feel confident he is working to produce the best outcome for you as a patient. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to any of my friends and colleagues who need this type of care and advice

Mr Gnanalingham is an excellent neurosurgeon and I am very pleased to be under his care and attention after a recent spine injury. He treated my wife for a brain tumour six years ago when his knowledge, diligence, patience, tenacity and skill saved my wife’s quality of life. He is highly recommended, respected and experienced also someone who goes the “extra mile”. My wife and I find he has a very pleasant manner and always a pleasure to meet, someone who soon puts you at ease and worries to rest. I would recommend MR Gnanalingham to anyone who requires a neuro surgeon.
