My experience with Mr Kandasamy has been overwhelmingly positive. I was referred to him in April of this year after developing sciatica, which followed years of lower back pain. What I admire most about him was that he took the time to educate me on my conditions and after an MRI confirmed spinal stenosis, he only recommended surgery as a last resort after I tried physio, pain control and cortisone injections. The last resort bilateral lumber decompression with interspinous spacer surgery was agreed for late November and from start to finish the experience was first class. Surgeons sometimes (understandably) are accused of being overly arrogant given the superb work they do. Mr Kandasamy was never arrogant, instead he was confident, humble, highly communicative and caring. I was delighted when he visited me at close to 9:00pm on the day of my surgery to see how I was and answer any questions. It's only been two weeks from the surgery, but my recovery is exactly as he predicted and I'm delighted with his work. I would recommend Mr Kandasamy highly to anyone suffering from from spinal stenosis or other spinal nerve issues.

I first met Mr Kandasamy when my condition was at it's worst and I was struggling to walk/sit for greater than 15 seconds. Straight away Mr Kandasamy provided a very concise diagnosis and detailed my various options for consideration and the associated risks. What I appreciated most was he allowed me to make an informed decision by detailing the various pros/cons of each. I opted for the surgical route and his team around him were very swift in arranging for the various forms and paperwork to be completed. Come to the day of the surgery, the team at Spire Murrayfield were very professional and caring throughout. Mr Kandasamy met me in the morning of the surgery to go over the surgery again and was very reassuring in the way he treated me. Seemed like I only blinked and I came round in the recovery bay and the pain had already subsided. Again, Mr Kandasamy visited me near the end of the day to check-in and check on my progress. I'm glad to say that I'm now 6 weeks post surgery and I'm pain free and well on the route to recovery. I would have no hesitation to recommend Mr Kandasamy as it has been truly life changing what he had been able to do for me.

Jothy Kandasamy provided excellent first meeting care and understanding of my potential condition. Investigations and pathways were discussed in detail and prompt MRI scans organised with good feedback and courses of action put in place. I was in chronic and constant pain I had lost the practical use of my left leg, after careful consideration of the results of scans and again keeping me as the patient fully updated Jothy organised surgery as an option to alleviate my condition. A discectomy was carried out on my L4 disc and I’m glad to say I have made significant and a positive recovery thanks to Jothy and his surgical skills. Jothy visited me pre surgery and again whilst I was in recovery, he has kept I touch with me throughout my recovery even phoning me at home to check that all was well when I was discharged from hospital. Pre-operation and post operation care was and is excellent. My condition continues to improve and I have good mobility and largely pain free thanks to Jothy’s excellent care and skill.

Never rushed, very informative, and took care and time to talk through my options to treat a severely prolapsed L4/5 disc with associated sciatic pain. Sequenced a series of treatments, starting with the least evasive; physio, nerve root injection, and culminating in a very successful discectomy. Highly recommend.
