7th January 2020

After almost 20 years with otosclerosis in my left ear, I was excited to discover the stapedectomy procedure made possible by the work of Mr Joseph Manjaly and Mr Jeremy Lavey at UCLH. From the moment I met Mr Manjaly I was impressed by his helpful and professional approach. The life changing surgery under sedation rather than a general anaesthetic was painless and recovery went smoothly. The ultimate reward was getting my hearing back to an extremely good level and I now hear absolutely normally. To say that I'm thrilled would be an understatement and I highly recommend this form of procedure to anybody in a similar situation.

Profile

Consultant Otologist, Auditory Implant & ENT Surgeon, specialising in ear and hearing problems for adults and children at the Royal National ENT Hospital & University College London Hospitals.

I have an active role in research, education and service development related to ear and hearing rehabilitation surgery. I specialise in treating all ear and balance-related problems as well as all types of hearing implantation, including cochlear implants, bone conduction implants and middle ear implants.

My highly specialised NHS work is mirrored in my private practice which I undertake in London. I have been trained by some of the country's leading specialists who I now proudly call colleagues, and am happy to receive referrals from other ENT consultants as well as GPs and patients.
