I had cochlea implant surgery with My Manjaly in Dec 2024, for single sided deafness in my right ear. He has also been treating me throughout last year for recurrent hearing losses in my left ear. It has been an incredibly difficult and stressful time for me and my family and I don't think I could have got through it without Mr Manjaly's kindness and skill. My CI surgery could not have gone better but it took me a year to get to the point of accepting it was necessary. In that time I had many questions and cancelled surgery dates. With every wobble, Mr Manjaly was always kind and patient, answering my questions promptly, clearly and honestly. Nothing was too much trouble, he always made time to listen. Mr Manjaly really understands the emotional and practical impact of hearing loss on everyone in the family. I think his depth of knowledge and understanding of my situation gave me the confidence to take the leap and have the CI surgery, despite my fears. On the day of my surgery he came to see me beforehand and twice afterwards. When I had some increased pain on day 4 after the op, Mr Manjaly immediately responded to my email, assessed the situation, made a plan and kept in regular touch, reassuring me I could contact him at any time. As it was, everything was fine and it was normal post-op pain, but knowing he was there and what to do if I had a problem, was a huge reassurance. I've had a lot of medical care in my life and can think of just a handful of doctors that are truly exceptional and show real care and empathy towards their patients. Mr Manjaly is definitely one of them, I would highly recommend him.
