Mr Jonathan Lucas

My daughter developed scoliosis aged around 12 years of age. My company private health insurance booked her in to the Portland Hospital in London, where she had regular consultation with Mr. Jonathan Lucas. Upon being made redundant, I lost the benefit of private health insurance, but Mr. Lucas continued to see my daughter via the NHS at Guys. Mr. Lucas gave my daughter the best possible attention at both establishments, ultimately leading to spinal fusion surgery at age 19, just 2 weeks ago. The before and after X-rays are testament to the expertise of Mr. Lucas and I would personally like to express my thanks to Mr. Lucas and the rest of the team at Sarah Ward, Guys Hospital for the care afforded to my daughter at what was obviously a very tense and nervous time for her and the rest of the family. Mr. Lucas himself is obviously a very committed and caring surgeon, visiting my daughter on the ward very early each day after the operation. Thank You!

My 77 year old mother first saw Mr Lucas on a Monday evening at his rooms in London Bridge during November 2016. My mother was in extreme pain due to an acute fracture of a vertebra & a day later she was being cared for in Guys Hospital. From the outset, Mr Lucas's concern for my mother was obvious & he took that care to new levels when just before a procedure that was planned, he turned up to the ward & wheeled her to surgery himself. Usual procedure - I doubt it? I genuinely cannot thank Mr Lucas enough, both for his professional approach & his overt & obvious desire to care for my mother - he is a rare breed amongst some very special professionals.
