Dr Jonathan Bernstein has operated on me recently for a right parotidectomy so as to prevent further enlargement of a tumour. He was very informative and personable. I was recommended to contact him through a consultant at Imperial so I knew that I was in hands of the very best. I'm very happy to say that post op, even though this was my first ever surgery with a general anaesthesia, procedure went very smoothly with a minimum scar. I would definitely recommend Dr Bernstein to my family and friends.

I recently underwent surgery for an extremely large potentially Cancerous tumour in my neck. I chose Jonathan as he was highly recommended by BUPA and serves both NHS and private patients. He is also a senior lecturer at Imperial College. From the outset his bedside manner was impeccable and he was very thorough and concise in explaining that the surgery was very complex and there was a strong possibility that there could be serious complications, as the tumour was right below the ear and where numerous facial functions nerves are located. Myself, my partner will always be indebted to him for the exceptional job he did with very intricate surgery. Not only was the tumour removed but there were also no complications at all. Happily the tumour was finally determined as benign which I am thrilled about. I cannot recommend his services highly enough for anyone in a similar situation.

I can’t recommend and thank Mr Bernstein enough. Like other comments here, he was very personable and patient and took time to explain my diagnosis (thyroid cancer). My first procedure was to have a thyroidectomy (remove half of the thyroid where the growth was present) and which Mr Bernstein arranged quickly and conducted very professionally so it was like a routine procedure and I made a quick recovery. The subsequent histology meant that I needed to have the remaining thyroid removed and due to another condition, I also required surgery in an adjacent area to remove and replace a degenerated disc in my neck. This other procedure required a neuro-surgeon. The great thing for me was that Mr Bernstein agreed to conduct the thyroid surgeon alongside the neuro-surgeon at another hospital - for me the benefit was obvious - two procedures but only one operation and one anaesthetic and one recovery. Mr Bernstein made the time to go the hospital just for my procedure and stayed on until 10.30pm that evening to wait for me to wake in recovery and then returned at 6am the following morning! Suffice to say the single operation went very well and I have recovered quickly with no issues. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him, the team and staff at the Marsden were also magnificent.

I was referred to Mr Bernstein when a large lymph node in my neck was thought to be cancer. I was so very impressed with Mr Bernstein from my first visit. He spent nearly two hours with me explaining everything and doing biopsies. After the results were verified I was told I had throat cancer. Infact it was cancer of the tonsil which had spread to my neck. I had surgery and then radiotherapy. Mr Bernstein was excellent. He informed me at every stage of my treatment and always made me feel safe and positive. He is such a fine surgeon. He is positive, kind, gentle, friendly, professional and above all saved my life.
