I can now run in heels! After years of researching and trying lots of other weight loss methods, I finally decided it was time to explore weight loss surgery. All my adult life I’ve been trying diet after diet and always struggled to lose weight and not only was this effecting my health but it also affected my wellbeing and lifestyle too. My consultation was with Mr Loy. I was feeling anxious leading up to this as I had no idea what to expect. I felt a sense of embarrassment and failure taking this step but I was very pleasantly surprised. Mr Loy not only listened to, and understood my struggles, he put me at great ease. Like most patients, I had 100’s of questions and I didn’t feel judged, embarrassed or afraid to have that open and honest conversation Mr Loy. After extensive consultations with the multidisciplinary teams I finally had my gastric sleeve surgery in May 2023, performed by Mr Loy who was genuinely caring and even held my hand while having my cannula inserted (the wimp that I am). My journey from the beginning to end has been outstanding! All the nurses, booking team and of course Mr Loy was exceptional. The preoperative and postoperative care has been nothing short of amazing. This is a journey and I know I will have ups and downs but so far my life has done a complete 360. I have successfully lost weight and I’m now living my life the way i have always dreamed of. I cannot thank Mr Loy enough, for all the help, support and professional care I received.

Mr Loy was encouraging, supportive and professional throughout my whole journey. Taking the decision to have gastric surgery was a life changing decision that was made easier by his guidance. On the day of the operation, I was petrified and he put me at ease and I went into the operating theatre with a smile on my face. Since the operation, he has called me twice to check in with me. I feel that he is genuinely pleased with my progress and the effects of the operation have been life-changing. I am so blessed to have put my faith in Mr Loy.

Mr John Loy looked after me from the first phone call. I had lots of questions and some concerns but his total knowledge and experience put me at ease from the start. His team at the London Independent Hospital were also excellent and he has a great anaesthetist (which was something I was concerned about) and I couldn't have had better care. Mr Loy came to see me after the surgery and again the following day, to check everything was well, and I've just had my 6 week follow-up with him. Again, he answered all my questions and so far I have lost 5 stone with another 4 stone to go. The only thing I wish is that I'd done it sooner. I have been able to cut hugely back on blood pressure medication, and my sleep apnoea is so much better. Thanks you Mr Loy for your help and professionalism, I owe you a huge debt of thanks as my quality of life has increased so much and I have so much more energy. Thanks again and speak to you soon.

I am very lucky to have been under the great care of My Loy and his team at Homerton Hospital. Mr Loy is professional with a sincere warmth and kindness. He is very easy to talk to and has got time for all your questions and worries and makes you feel less anxious. He was very informative and discussed everything in detail. I felt that he was with me every step of the way! I honestly cannot have had a better surgeon! There isn't one thing that could have been improved. He really was the best! The difference that this operation has had on my life is unbelievable. All the bariatric team were amazing. I had some questions regarding diet after the surgery and emailed the nurses, they always got back to me and gave me advice and support. I can never thank Mr Loy and his team enough. Would I recommend Mr Loy....Hell YES!!!!

I love this man he has given me so much, and helped my life and marriage. It will be 4 years since my surgery and I still speak to him on the phone. Kind, warm, friendly and professional,his team all follow his care for the patient. It was a great honor to be treated by him. I will always be thankful to him and his team
