I had been suffering from lower back problems and associated leg pain for over a year. My condition continues to deteriorate until my mobility was severely restricted. I arranged to see Mr Crawford for a consultation with an MRI to follow. The diagnosis of severe stenosis was explained to me in simple terms and more importantly Mr Crawford gave me confidence that something could be done to improve my lifestyle which had become very restricted by then. My operation was undertaken at the Spire Lea Hospital. Immediately after returning to my room my condition was dramatically improved and was able to get up from the bed and walk freely around the room. I was discharged after 24 hrs. Two weeks on and my recovery is going very well. I can only thank Mr Crawford and and all the team involved in this procedure for giving me back the opportunity to return to a reasonably normal life

Mr Crawford was very caring and showed the utmost professionalism during my back surgery. I have seen a massive difference in my back and just have to get it back up to full strength now with walking and other light work outs. I am fully back at work and driving again. I was off pain killers after 1 week. Fully recommend him and his team.

Mr Crawford was recommended to me and it is no exaggeration to say that he has changed my life. I have been diagnosed with spondylolithesis 10 years ago and he is the first person who said he could help with this. He gave me options which we discussed fully. I opted for spinal fusion and nerve decompression. From the minute I awoke from the procedure, I had no nerve pain. Recovery from the operation has been steady over a number of months and I have worked hard at exercising and physio, but I now have a quality of life that I haven't had for years. I cannot thank Mr Crawford enough for his kind and patient manner, and for listening to me when lots of other consultants haven't. I would whole-heartedly recommend Mr Crawford to anyone.

Dr Crawford treated my daughter. At all times he was calm, friendly, honest and open. He explained everything in a simple and concise manner. The operation he performed has changed my daughters life. She is transformed both physically and mentally. There will never be enough words in my vocabulary to be able to thank Dr Crawford enough. The NHS and the people in it are invaluable and we should all do everything we can to make sure it isn’t taken away from us.

Mr Crawford came highly recommended by my physio. Right from the off he gave me the heads it was likely a slipped disc and the mri confirmed this. The consultation to decide on next steps was extremely thorough and we talked at length about my 3 options. As the issue had been ongoing for some time I opted for surgery and Mr Crawford made me feel 100% comfortable with my decision. He was honest and open about what the days post surgery would be like and this helped me to be as prepared as I could be. His team on surgery day were fantastic and kept me relaxed. Two follow up consultations also kept me on the right track and a great recommendation for physiopilates which has made such a difference. I would highly recommend Mr Crawford, an excellent surgeon who listens and gives appropriate and caring advice.
