I am a Consultant T&O surgeon and Honorary Senior Lecturer working at Chapel Allerton Hospital/Leeds General Infirmary (Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust) with a special interest in primary and revision hip and knee replacements and in particular, the management of periprosthetic joint infections and fractures. I am fellowship trained, having completed my primary and revision hip and knee replacement fellowships in Nottingham, Coventry and Oxford where I also specialised in the management of bone cancers (Sarcomas). I have a PhD from the University of Leicester looking at the outcomes of hip and knee replacements and the use of activity monitors to assess activity levels. My academic interests include outcomes of primary and revision arthroplasty surgery and I have been awarded national research grants to run and coordinate research studies. I served as an Associate Editor on the editorial board of the Bone and Joint Journal (BJJ) from 2012 to 2016. I have published over 30 peer reviewed papers and presented at international and national conferences and written several textbook chapters in T&O. I was President of the British Orthopaedics Trainees Association (BOTA) and was a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and British Orthopaedic Association Council. I have also been a member of the Specialty Advisory Committee (SAC) for training for T&O registrars.
