I am a professional dancer, teacher and mother so embarking on an operation involving my left foot was not the easiest decision. I was fortunate to receive an appointment with Jason Eyre who immediately gave me a positive welcome and response to an ongoing problem since I was born. He assessed me and because my case was uncommon was very sensible immediately seeking other doctors and surgeons opinion on going ahead with the operation. This lead us to attend a small convention in Huddersfield last year. My foot was carefully examined by over 10 practitioners and specialists who all agreed an operation to remove the bursa which had grown very big over the bone which protruded downwards making walking and dancing very uncomfortable. Post convention confirmed operation was needed however Dr Eyre allowed me to think about the event then it was decided we booked in the operation for following year. A small issue with first operation being postponed due to unforeseen circumstances with Nuffield hospital however I was treated very well and has excellent communication from here on in. The operation went very well seeing Dr Eyre pre operation to assess me and explain to the finest detail what would be taking place. Then when I recovered from the anaesthetic he visited me again for post op chat again giving detail of what took place. Discharged from hospital I began my recovery 1 week complete rest keeping foot elevated and not exerting myself. From here I used crutches for a few weeks until I could limp slowly. I recently had my 6 weeks appointment Dr Eyre was very impressed by my recovery, the scar has healed beautifully, the swelling is very minimal and I am aware when I do too much this will increase again so after exercise I use Rest, Ice , Compression & Elevation. I could not have asked for a more proactive, approachable and highly skilled doctor and would recommend anyone who is suffering with a similar condition should seek advice and not be put off by surgery. I am about to go on professional tour with my dance company which demonstrates amazing things are possible.
