In 2011 I discovered I had tongue cancer. The NHS could not operate for around 6-8 weeks and so I searched for a local maxillofacial surgeon. I came across Mr Thiruchelvam and I went for a consultation and I thank my lucky stars that I did. He explained everything in detail what would and could happen. He is an exceptional surgeon; I had part of my tongue removed and the lymph glands down one side of my neck removed, which meant a very long scar. I can honestly say I awoke from a very long surgery with no pain and very little discomfort. He is gentle, caring and kind and helped me through a very difficult time. I see him regularly for check-ups and he is always available should I have any worries, even four years down the line. I would recommend Mr. Thiruchelvam to anyone.

Mr thiruchelvam performed a parothidectomy (a benign tumour behind my right ear ) last October 2014. I was very nervous about this operation because of the risks of facial nerve damage and other possible risks for this type of surgery.i am happy to write this review because my operation was a complete success,and although I had some numbness in the outer ear area for a couple of months,this now has healed completely.i also had no visible scarring or any pain,and was back to work after 2 weeks. Mr thiruchelvam is an excellent surgeon and a very kind and caring man,and I would not hesitate to recommend him to any of my family or friends,because of the kind and compassionate manner that he gives to all his patients.
