In January 2020 Mr Owen performed a total knee replacement of my left knee. The outcome never felt right from day one And I was left with restricted range of joint movement. In January 2021 Mr Owen performed a manipulation under anaesthetic. No improvement was achieved. At subsequent Consultations Mr Owen told me I was going to have to live with situation. I continued to persevere with the discomfort and life limiting situation for the next 2 years before finally approaching another knee specialist. Investigations showed that the knee components were placed too close together & thus restricting the range of movement. A subsequent total knee revision was carried out in October 2023 by this new specialist. I now have full range of joint movement & finally have my quality of life back. If only Mr Owen had listened to me & not fobbed me off I would not have experienced 3 years of unnecessary suffering.

No nonsense approach to my treatment. Not patronizing. I had an ACL reconstruction using part of my hamstring and a slight repair to the meniscal cartilage. I was an outpatient at the Horton General. The care was amazing, I did not have to wait for any of my appointments and was seen EARLY in some cases. After the operation I had very little pain which I managed easily with paracetamol. Mr Owen works pretty swiftly so have your questions ready or you might miss the opportunity, no problem for me, it means everything runs on time. Good job all round. And I just have to say how marvellous the reception staff were (not my normal NHS experience).
