6 reviews

Mr Langdon is a senior spinal orthopaedic surgeon at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where he is the clinical lead for spinal surgery and has also been clinical director of the Orthopaedic unit. Mr Langdon specialises in the management of spinal conditions. His main surgical interest is in the use of minimally invasive spinal surgical techniques for the treatment of sciatica and stenosis. He believes that the use of minimally invasive techniques improves patient outcomes and reduces the length of hospital stay. Mr Langdon offers a full range of surgical treatments for degenerative spinal conditions including lumbar microdiscectomy, spinal decompression, spinal fusions, anterior cervical decompression and fusion/disc replacement, and balloon kyphoplasty for vertebral compression fractures, as well as spinal injections. Mr Langdon trained at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and has been a consultant spinal surgeon since 2011. He undertakes between 150-200 spinal operations per year. He has excellent compliance with data entry into the British Spine Registry and prides himself on his good outcomes. Mr Langdon works privately at Spire Harpenden Hospital and does his complex work as part of the First Class Spine team at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. He is on the GMC specialist register for orthopaedic surgery. He is a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons (BASS) and the Spine Society of Europe.
