I recently underwent Bariatric surgery at southmead with James Hewes doing my operation. From the moment I got to the ward in the morning till I left the next day I had the best care from his team. They all made me feel as relaxed as possible & I was terrified but Jim & his team were fantastic! Thank you all so much!!

Mr James Hewes carried out a Nissen Fundoplication for me on 15th November 2018. I'm now 2 wks post op and have been amazed at the speed of recovery and even more how life changing the results have been, no more reflux no more medication , clear head and great sleep after many yrs of living with the symptoms of reflux & PPI's.
The care received by Mr Hewes and the team before, during and after the surgery was exceptional and I felt in very safe hands throughout.
To Mr Hewes and the theatre team thank you very much for your skill and care which has given me a new lease of life at 66 yrs old.

Thank you for the excellent care I received as a day case, when a tiny epigastric hernia was repaired, resulting in speedy recovery and no further symptoms. I am very grateful, as the symptoms were disproportionate to the size of the hernia.
