Dr. Gibbs changed my life. From our first visit, he was kind, patient, and took the time to explain everything about my hip replacement. I felt confident and cared for every step of the way.

I recently had a total hip replacement, I am now 7 weeks post op and life has been back to normal( with increased mobility) for a few weeks now.
The care I have received from Mr Gibbs and his team has been exemplary, while the thought of a hip replacement was daunting I knew it was the best solution but I was put at ease and reassured all the time.

I’m so glad I was under Mr Gibbs excellent care.
I’ve just had two total hip replacements, a few weeks apart & I felt extremely confident of what to expect as he explained it all and took time to answer all my questions.
His approachable, knowledgeable, reassuring &, most of all, kind manner put me completely at ease for the first major surgery I’ve ever had.
Both ops went well & the recoveries have been a lot easier than I anticipated.
Also had an excellent experience due to the attention and great care of all the support staff at Nuffield Haywards Heath.
I can’t recommend Mr Gibbs enough - absolutely brilliant surgeon. Thank you.

Mr James Gibbs MB BS, Msc, FRCS (Tr & Orth) is a Specialist Consultant in Orthopaedics & Trauma in Surrey and Sussex specialising in hip, knee and sports injury conditions. He is one of the region’s leading Robotic Surgery experts and is an invited speaker in the field.
He regularly manages hip and knee conditions along with sports injuries. He performs above average numbers of hip and knee replacements including Robotic surgery, partial knee replacement and hip resurfacing. He is also a specialist in redo joint replacement surgery. He also performs key-hole surgery and ligament reconstruction for soft tissue and sports injuries. He has an interest in joint preservation treatments for arthritis such as visco-supplementation and corrective osteotomy surgery.
He has been an NHS Consultant at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust since 2011.
