I’m almost eighty years old with comorbilities that leave me vulnerable to surgery. Mr Gibbs gave me confidence that he could safely perform a total right hip replacement which he did two weeks ago. It has been a struggle regarding pain and discomfort as I’m limited to the analgesic drugs I can take but I’m just beginning to regain my strength and mobility. Being a “high risk” patient, I can’t thank Mr Gibbs and his anaesthetist enough for enabling me to undertake this surgery and hopefully, for giving me back my active life. I know I now have to work diligently at regaining my strength and mobility and I’m excited at the prospect of enjoying a summer of activity free from pain.

James has been magnificent throughout the whole process. I had both knees fully replaced within 7 weeks of each other and it has been a brutal, torrid time. Every time i saw James, and the physio Team, they helped me through my fears and gave me confidence that all was on track, even though from my perspective it didn't at times feel like it. James has a calm, likeable trusting manner and i would thoroughly endorse him to others. Andrew

I was referred to James Gibbs after being sent around the country including the orthopaedic hospital in Oxford and he was the only surgeon that was listening to me! To be told by Oxford the they could do nothing for me until the fracture had healed when I did not know that I had a fracture was just beyond belief. Mr Gibbs arranged for a Spec scan and things went from good to even better!he diagnosed the replacement knee joint had come loose and needed to be replaced. This was done in November 2023 at the Sussex Orthopaedic Treatment Centre at the princess royal hospital. I can’t thank Mr Gibbs for giving me my life back

Mr Gibbs successfully performed a Total Knee Replacement on my arthritic left knee in early 2021 and I was delighted with the outcome. Similar problems have affected my right knee and I was fortunate that Mr Gibbs agreed to help again and I now have a complete set of "Gibbs Knees". Mr Gibbs is thoroughly professional and a highly skilled surgeon. The outcome on each occasion has been excellent and I look forward to many more years of active life and an early return to the golf course. Mr Gibbs has a warm and friendly manner and is an excellent communicator, explaining technical and medical issues simply and clearly. I was fortunate to have his help on both occasions.
