James Carmichael has been an outstanding Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and one I would highly recommend. His kind, caring nature and wealth of knowledge helped me through my tailor’s bunion operation. I was in a lot of discomfort and at the stage that any footwear was causing me pain. Mr Carmichael took the time to listen to my concerns, discuss my options clearly, including the downside of surgery, and gave me the confidence and much needed reassurance to proceed. Although I have had some issues following my bunion removal Mr Carmichael’s calm and positive manner on my follow-up appointments have made such a difference to my recovery and I am well on the road to a full recovery. Thank you Mr Carmichael for all your care, you have been amazing.

Following an ankle injury, I was referred to Mr Carmichael who operated on me. I feel I have had most successful outcome from the procedure with a thorough understanding of the immediate and long term stages of my injury. Clear, professional and effective medical intervention from Mr Carmichael and all at Fitzwilliam, which has recovered a good standard of physical ability to injury.
