I am a consultant trauma & orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in spinal surgery. I qualified as a doctor in 2001 from Birmingham University Medical School. I completed basic surgical training in the West Midlands, I then worked in Dunedin, New Zealand for over 2 years as a trauma & orthopaedic registrar. I returned to the UK, and trained on the North West higher surgical training scheme. I was the senior trainee at Salford Royal Hospital spinal unit for a year, and then at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a further year, prior to taking up a substantive consultant post. I commenced as a consultant in 2017. In my elective practice I specialise in complex surgery on the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.
