About 1995 had 2nd cut for malignant melanoma, at the Lister Hospital. At the time, my impression was that he was one of the world's nicest people; a real gentleman.

I met Mr Thomas as we were introduced to him by a member of the team my partner was under and being treated for Melanoma. She had spread/metastasis and was worried about the cancer as well as potential complications of the procedure including the preservation of her facial nerve. Mr Thomas experience and knowledge along with reassurance, put her at ease during one of the hardest times of her life. He explained things simply but throughly and successfully operated on my partner, preserving her facial nerve and removed the metastasis as planned. Her recovery followed as Mr Thomas said it would. Mr Thomas is warm and friendly, confident in his ability and a genuine man who goes beyond and above for his patients. Hopefully my partner won’t have the need to meet him again (continued good health) however should the need arrive that she needs care for melanoma or surgery, Mr Thomas will be our first choice every time

I can only speak highly of Professor Meirion Thomas and would- without a shadow of doubt- recommend his services. I was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma and sadly, due to mistakes made in Wales, by the time I had met with Professor Thomas, my parotid gland was just a little smaller than a golf ball. The professor talked us through the procedure, explaining everything clearly and within 4 days, the metastasis was removed. I don’t know what the Prof did to make this happen so fast but myself and family are forever grateful. Sadly, I didn’t take his advice with radiotherapy which did indeed lead to necrosis of my mandible, something he was highly concerned about in regard to radiotherapy. However, Professor Thomas gave me the chance to fight. Yes I progressed to stage 4 however, had the Prof not acted so quickly, the tumour would have broken through the skin. In addition to this, sat there with the potential of spread. He was the only person at this time to act. He provided reassurance, knowledge of melanoma in addition to getting the job done. All with a great personality making you feel at ease during one of the most hardest times of ones life. In addition to this, recently I contacted him with a question and surprisingly, not only did he reply, he remembered me as a patient of his from 7 years ago. I’m more than happy to share my experience with others of the Professor and his ability. As I say, I’m thankful that he gave me a fighting chance and thankfully- that because of him- I’ve been clear (although stage 4) since 2017, after finishing Immunotherapy in 2019. Meirion Thomas is an excellent oncologist surgeon and an extremely caring doctor. He correctly diagnosed and removed a malignant tumor on my shin two years ago.Two doctors had previously dismissed it as varicose veins !! I feel very fortunate indeed to be under the care of this amazing doctor.
