One year ago I had a total knee replacement. The surgery was completed by Mr Mersich at the Park Hospital Nottinghamshire. Prior to the surgery I had a consultation with Mr Mersich. During the consultation he explained what the surgery would entail, he put my mind at ease and was very professional. He listened to me and answered all of my questions. Mr Mersich visited me prior to the surgery on the admission day and the same day following the surgery to see how I was. In the year following the surgery I saw Mr Mersich at regular intervals to see how I was progressing and he even called me at home. Months before the surgery I could hardly walk and was very depressed. I now attend the gym four days a week and have lost two stones. I can honestly say he has turned my life around and gave me hope for the future. This is not the first interaction I have had with Mr Mersich. A couple of years before I had a partial knee replacement on my other leg. Due to the nature of my condition (arthritis ) I guarantee that I will need future surgery and I would not go to any other surgeon. Mr Mersich is professional, kind, considerate, empathetic and above all extremely talented. Thank you Mr Mersich, I am sure I will see you in the future. Kind regards Helen Eves

I have been treated by Dr Mersich after having a very bad fall in February 2022 I struggled with the pain for 6 months before going to see Dr Mersich having no joy with my GP. Dr Mersich never gave up and listened with ultimate care about how the pain was making me feeel and tried several different treatments on my hip, knee and thigh arriving at the most comfortable place I have been in two and a half years. I can’t express enough how seeing Dr Mersich and my amazing physio Heather has at last returned the smile to my face and I am returning to being my normal self being able to walk a little further each day with comfort and ease. Thank you so much Dr Mersich you never gave up on me and you never made me feel if one treatment didn’t work there was nothing else that could. I have recommended him to my colleagues at work who are also seeing him. Thank you.

In 2023 Mr Mersich replaced both knees for me and he was excellent from the very first time I met him. He explained my X-rays to me in such a caring way and every time I saw him he behaved with the same understanding manner, putting me at my ease and greatly reducing any concerns I had regarding surgery. Both operations were a great success, the aftercare and attention was excellent from all staff. I followed the advice of both Mr Mersich and my physiotherapist and the result is that now ( only four months after my second replacement) I barely give the operations a thought. I carry on exactly as I did years ago, long walks which include climbing and my favourite past time of gardening is a joy again!!! I look forward to the rest of the year knowing I will be free of pain and not be restricted as I was. Thank you for giving me my life back Mr Mersich, I will always be so very grateful.

Mr Mersich has provided excellent care in first, replacement of my right hip and second, partial replacement of my right knee. From my first visit (referred by NHS) he has always listened carefully and reacted to what I say. At earlier referrals, other medical professionals delayed treatment, but Mr Mersich was quick to recognise my need. I was very pleased also that he showed me the X-rays, which previously others have been reluctant to do. He was quick to agree to the second operation and helped me to get through the necessary stages of referral. When admitted and after surgery he has explained the operations and their success. The surgery appears so far to have been wholly successful, with full recovery (twice over) and a return to normal activity – including bowls, cycling and hill-walking. Both legs are I think equally strong and flexible, and an observer cannot tell which has had surgery. This is especially satisfying as the intermittent problem which I suffered for decades with my right knee have now gone. I am most grateful and strongly recommend Mr Mersich.

Mr Mersich is a very caring, thoughtful, professional consultant. From the very first appointment he gave a personal service which made me feel valued and gave me confidence in him performing the surgery I needed. I required 2 knee replacements. These have now been done and his follow up of the surgeries has been very thorough. He always explained things in a manner in which I could understand which allowed me to have the surgeries in the knowledge that I knew exactly what was going to be done. This reduced the stress of undertaking surgery and gave me the confidence to have both knees operated on over a period of time. I feel I have been looked after very well and I am very happy with the outcomes. The whole team who were involved at the Park have been excellent. The outpatients reception, the nurses. the physios, the other doctors, the others who work on the wards and around the hospital to ensure it keeps its high standards are all brilliant. I would like to mention that my surgeries were done via NHS funding.
