During my stay in hospital after a traumatic road traffic collision I was given conflicting messages regarding my required treatment. I was told an operation would be necessary then discharged not having had an operation. A few days after being discharged I sought a second opinion and saw Mr Polyzois privately. I took comfort from the fact that he seemed to consider all my injuries. An MRI was done, and the images were startling. We discussed my options, both surgical and non-surgical, and the pros and cons of each. Mr Polyzois recommended that surgical intervention on my collarbone would be the best course of action for optimal recovery and why. I agreed to the operation. His follow-up appointments seemed thorough and at no point did I feel rushed when asking my questions. Speed of recovery depends on many factors, but he did give realistic timelines. Mr Polyzois sounded proud of his own work following the operation which is great. You want someone who takes pride in what they do. Following the operation, it was obviously painful, but I could feel straight away that it felt ‘right’, my bones were back in place. Thanks to Mr Polyzois I don’t have to get used to a ‘new normal’.
