What an amazing human being as well as an expert surgeon...Ian Starks has just given me second replacement knee... The first knee was in 2019 in the middle of the covid pandemic...I was extremely fortunate...this period in our lives was horrendous and so so difficult for surgeons doctors and all nursing staff... So Mr Starks...thank you for giving me my life back...you are a brilliant surgeon.

A very careful and talented surgeon who wants perfection! He has given me two amazing knees which have given me back my life!! When I had my post op X-ray after the first knee replacement, the radiographer was amazed at what he had done when she looked at the pre op X-ray. One issue pre op was that he isn’t happy to operate if you are overweight - and I am. However the results have been amazing and I am now (just 3 months post op) so active, I am losing weight quickly. I must also say that the anaesthetist was amazing and persevered when a spinal anaesthetic was looking unlikely, and the theatre staff and ward nurses were second to none. Well done wrexham maelor hospital - 1st class.

Recently had a THR by Mr Sparks and his team.I found him to be excellent.He explained everything preop including the benefits and pitfalls of surgery.Had a 2d stay in hospital and have just been for the 6w Check up where he gave me every encouragement and again listened and explained all my questions and concerns.First class service.Thank you to all the team.
