Mr Atkinson replaced my 78 year old hip in October 2023. He had gone out of his way to operate as quickly as possible having seen the results of the MRI. The actual operation went smoothly and quickly. An extremely detailed report was sent to my GP and copied to me. After discharge, I took only paracetamol and that for only two weeks. I know no-one who has had as little pain after a hip replacement. I was able to walk confidently without sticks after 4 weeks. At the 6-8 week check, I was shown the X-ray of my hip and the 'made to measure' and perfectly fitted implant which may explain some of the above. At all stages of treatment both pre and post operation Mr Atkinson explained what would and what had happened. He answered every question patiently and in depth. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Seldom is it you find a competent, professional, trustworthy and as genuinely as committed and caring as the wonderful man and Doctor Mr Atkinson is. I was seen as an NHS Patient with a rare condition and Mr Atkinson throughly explained the treatment which would occur (surgery under general anaesthetic) which would be complex procedure. As I have been treated by Mr Atkinson previously I knew his expertise and experience would excellently execute the operation. As I am still recovering post operation, the post care I am forever grateful and thankful for all of Mr Atkinson's has done. After finding out about my condition my mental state started slowly descending however with all of Mr Atkinson and the wonderful nurse's care, my confidence has been restored and this could only have been done being under Mr Atkinson's provision.

Mr Henry Atkinson treated my Achilles tendon with care and experience. He listened to my explanation of the problem, understood exactly what my condition was and told me what treatments were appropriate. He explained the treatments so that I could understand exactly what was involved and the results I could expect. My ankle is now perfectly normal, but I am grateful that Mr Atkinson has not discharged me because he wants to check the condition of my tendon in six months’ time. I am totally satisfied with the treatment I have received and am grateful to know that Mr Atkinson will check my Achilles tendon in six month’s time. I confidently recommend Mr Atkinson.

I came to Henry in 2021 following emergency tibial plateau surgery to correct catastrophic damage after a serious high speed cycling accident. I was in a mess with the knee and a host of complications including; venous congestion, PE and nerve damage. I was struggling to find a positive way forward. From the outset Henry took ownership of my general care and wellbeing which was a huge relief. He explained scenarios clearly and set them out in excellent, well structured clinic letters. He supported me brilliantly with the completion of insurance forms and his enthusiasm and encouragement for my recovery was unwavering. There is no doubt in my mind that Henry is an extraordinarily gifted surgeon but beyond that it was the partnership and trust that we had in each other that has enabled me to make progress that I never thought possible when I walked into our first consultation. He's also a very nice man and a quality individual. I can't speak highly enough of him. Finally a word for his staff who are friendly and super efficient. All in all henry and his staff make the process enjoyable and rewarding.
