Following difficulty getting a timely operation performed on a hernia caused by a previous operation in January, I decided to go private. This was definitely the best decision I have ever made, the hernia repair turned out not to be straight forward and I had an obstruction in my bowel. Part of my small bowel had to be removed and I feel very lucky I didn't end up with a Stoma bag. I would highly recommend Mr Sumrein, his care from start to finish has been amazing.

I had been suffering with hemorrhoids for a number of years, to the point where they became stage 4 and caused me a lot of discomfort and pain when using the toilet. I tried various creams and methods to reduce the size of them, but this didn’t work. After looking at them, Dr Sumrien said that I would need surgery. I had 2 options, THD or a Hemorroidectomy (removal of the hemorrhoids). Dr Sumrien was extremely informative and made sure I knew all of the pros and cons of both procedures. Even though THD was recommended, I decided to choose removal. I was very nervous about the operation but Dr Sumrien made sure I knew the whole process and what to expect afterwards. The first couple of weeks after the Op was a very painful recovery but I was able to make contact at anytime with Dr Sumrien for any advise or help. I’m now around 6 weeks into recovery and I feel great! If you are suffering with the same problem as I have, I would fully recommend booking an appointment with Dr Sumrien! He’s been brilliant from start to finish!

I have suffered from grade 4 piles and anal tags for many years and had many unsuccessful bandings. Dr Sumrien was introduced to me by another hospital surgeon and he immediately recommended THD. He clearly explained the procedure, the recovery and likelihood of success. I took the decision to have to procedure carried out and whilst there is no hiding the fact that the recovery was both painful and frustrating, the results are better than I could have expected. The days immediately after the procedure will have you questioning your decision but within weeks/months you will realise it was the right choice. I am now four months post op and feeling so much better. There is still the occasional bout of uncomfortableness (usually after a bowel movement) but this wasn’t unexpected and compared to how it was before, it is nothing. Dr Sumrien was great from start to finish. I cannot recommend him or the procedure enough. Just be prepared for a little short term pain!

I have recently had surgery for grade 4 piles and skin tags. Haytham is a fantastic surgeon, very kind, considerate and empathetic, explaining the procedure in detail. The recovery was difficult and painful but small improvements are noticeable each day and after 4 weeks I am the most pain free I have been for months. I have lived with piles since having my first child 25 years ago so it was never going to be a quick fix. I have seen various doctors over the years and no one ever came up with a solution. I am pleased I went to Haytham where I was listened to and guided through a solution that, although it wasn’t easy, has resolved the situation to a satisfactory conclusion

2 weeks after giving birth to my daughter I realised there was an issue with my bottom. I was in agony when emptying my bowels and for up to 9 hours afterwards which was incredible difficult mentally and physically when trying to look after my daughter. The pain was exhausting and affected every day for me. After going to the doctor on numerous occasions, being told I had haemorrhoids but the pain would not go away, I decided to use my private medical account and booked to see Dr Sumrien. Thank goodness I did!! Dr Sumrien made me feel so comfortable given the area of the body that was causing me so much pain. I knew straight away that he was going to help me and after not knowing what was actually wrong with me for nearly 2 months, he gave me a diagnosis within the first 5 minutes of the appointment. I had a sinus and chronic anal fissure. He was so understanding of my situation and looking after my daughter going through all of this. Dr Sumrien booked me in for an examination under general anaesthetic, to operate on the sinus and to inject Botox to allow the anal fissure to heal. He explained exactly what was needed and I felt excited going into the surgery because I completely trusted Dr Sumrien and knew he would do all he could to sort the issues. The surgery was successful in all respects and the recovery was quite quick. I called Dr Sumrien when I was unsure on the recovery and he was so lovely and arranged for me to go in the next day to just check. The appointment was great and Dr Sumrien was really pleased with the recovery. I couldn’t believe that he was so understanding and got me an appointment so quickly. Unfortunately in my follow up appointment with Dr Sumrien a number of weeks later he saw on examination that I had a brand new fissure in a different place. I was absolutely devastated and Dr Sumrien was amazing and referred me to a scientist to review the tone of my muscles to see whether the tone was too high which may have caused the fissure. I had an appointment with the scientist very quickly due to Dr Sumrien’s referral and got me back in to see him once he had received the results. He was amazing as always and discussed what I needed to do to help this fissure heal. After a little bit more time, the fissure wasn’t healing and it really affected my mental health to the point that I stopped eating and saw food as the enemy. I found it hard to look after my daughter and go out of the house. I called Dr Sumrien who picked up my call even when he was on holiday and arranged an appointment as soon as he could. I went into see him and completely broke down. Dr Sumrien could see how this had affected me and noticed I had lost a lot of weight and made an urgent appointment for me to have Botox again to hopefully allow this new fissure to heal. I was seen within a week! He just completely got how I felt and knew me well by this point so knew I was in a bad place. I can happily say that following this latest operation I am healed!!!!!! I went back to Dr Sumrien who was clearly so happy for me and made such a fuss of my daughter (who I took to the appointments). He is just so lovely and it’s hard to explain in words. The whole experience of the fissures and sinus has been beyond difficult and I can safely say that I would not feel like I do today and healed without Dr Sumrien. If you ever have any issue like this please go and see him. He’s changed my life for the better!
