Both my husband & I have had cataracts removed from both eyes and are both pleased with the outcome. Thank you for your current advice.

Because of deteriorating vision in my left eye which was severely limiting, I was referred by my optician to Moorfields on two occasions, one of which was followed up by an appointment in their cataract clinic. After a very brief consultation, treatment was declined and the diagnosis of floaters and dry eyes given. I felt very anxious as I knew there was something very wrong. My optician recommended Mr Zambarakji to me and I saw him for a consultation in mid January. He immediately diagnosed a dense cataract at the back of my left eye and I was scheduled in for surgery two weeks later. After meeting Mr Zambarakji, I immediately felt very relieved and confident in his ability to help me. I opted not to have a local anaesthetic but my eyes were numbed with repeated administration of drops. The surgery was over in half an hour. I felt no pain at all and was reassured by Mr Zambarakji during the operation. The results are better than I could ever have imagined and are transformative. I can read without glasses and my mid distance vision for playing the piano and working on the computer is very good. Longer distance is also so much improved and my good right eye has now become my bad eye! I have clarity of vision and colour, also night vision is so much better and I once again feel confident to drive at night. I will not hesitate to go back to Mr Zambarakji when my right eye eventually needs lens replacement. He is so professional and pleasant and gives you absolute confidence that he knows exactly what he is doing. He is backed up by an excellent team at The Holly, who were so caring and professional. I do not hesitate to recommend Mr Zambarakji to anybody who is considering cataract surgery.

Before my recent Lens replacement surgery performed by top surgeon Mr. Hadi Zambarakji I played darts to a reasonable level. The surgery has definitely improved my life, and also improved my darts. Within two weeks of the operation to my right eye my averages and checkouts have improved ! Following the cataract operation I now have 20/15 vision that I never experienced before as I relied on contact lens that were effective but it is such an advantage for me now, and has made me more confident with darts, other sports, driving and life………….. I cannot thank Mr. Hadi Zambarakji enough for his skill, expertise and professionalism, the gentleman is absolutely amazing. Also, I must thank Hadi’s fantastic team and the Spire East London hospital for all they did for me. The same operation will be performed next week to my left eye and I know now that I am in the very best hands. Thank you again, best wishes Michael D

Mr Zambarakji is an excellent and competent Eye Surgeon. His deftly surgical skills complement his wits and bed side manners. He shows a genuine attention to patients' wellbeing and goes out of his way to ensure the individual is comfortable and constantly seeks to avoid any surgical complications and most crucially prevents them. He is not after any financial gains, he practises medicine with passion and an old-school vocational attitude which in turn creates a warm and hugely satisfying rapport between him and his patients.I cannot recommend him enough.
