After being discharged from hospital after injuring my hand I was still experiencing problems months later and was put under Mr Shyamalan's care. From the start he listened and made me feel at ease. He suspected that I had ruptured a tendon in my finger and was quickly sent for scans which confirmed this. In January this year I had the 1st stage of tendon reconstruction. The 3 hour extensive surgery was carried out under local anaesthetic and throughout Mr Shyamalan ensured that I was comfortable and explained what was happening. In August this year I had the 2nd stage, again under local anaesthetic, where the tendon was removed from my right wrist and reconstructed into the left hand and again experienced nothing but the best care. I have since been discharged by physio therapy and by Mr Shyamalan himself and I am so please to say my hand is as good as new! We were never sure how much my hand and finger would return to normal function, we just knew I wouldn't experience the problems that I did have and I remember saying to him throughout the outpatients appointments that I was happy with how much it had already improved and that would be enough. I am now 4 months post op and haven't seen Mr Shyamalan for about 6 weeks, my hand is now fully functioning as it was before the injury. My finger bends at each joint and I have no pain or discomfort. I am now just working on rebuilding the strength to my left hand. I couldn't thank you Mr Shyamalan enough for what you have done, I am definitely the patient with 100% success after this surgery. The long process was definitely worth every moment. I am so glad that I put all of my trust into you. A surgeon that really knows his stuff and I would recommend to anyone!
