I was lucky enough to have a Mako hip replacement performed by Mr. Keene. One of the nurses also told me he was the surgeon of her choice. I was able to walk very quickly afterwards and left hospital after 2 days rather than the planned 3. I was able to drive after a week and 2 weeks later, I'm walking about the house without crutches. I only had 2 days off work (being self-employed) - the day of the operation and the day after I came out of hospital This rapid recovery is partly due to my ensuring I was fit and ready pre op with a positive attitude, but it must also be mainly thanks to the skill and expertise of Mr. Keene. Mr. Keene has a very calm and gentle approach and explains everything very well. He also chose a great team to work with him whom I can't thank enough. Mr Keene was described to me as "old school" by his team but he did listen to my concerns and we managed to work round some of the issues I was concerned about after a short discussion

In September 2020 I had a fall and was admitted to A&E at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. I required major surgery and Mr Keene carried this out. I was so very fortunate that he was able to carry out the operation and I have made a full recovery within a few months. He is a kind and gentle man and I would like to thank him again for his and his team's excellent work especially during the Covid-19 crisis.

Excellent from the first consultation, hip replacement operation and post operation review. From my perspective, if you are lucky enought to have been referred to this surgeon you are in very safe hands. Listen to him and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Good bedside manner and excellent surgeon Few complications noted and deals with problems concientiously
