I went to Mr spink with continuous nerve pain in my left arm caused by a bulging disc in my c6 c7, he listened to the problems I was having due to this and gave me options on what I could do or have done to alleviate this problem with no pressure to decide straight away, I decided after reading about all option to have anterior neck surgery and fusion, Mr spink went through all the risks that come with the surgery and what benefits of having the surgery are, I had my surgery 6 weeks ago and I can't thank Mr spink enough for his advice and support throughout the whole process, he answered my questions and was always reassuring, I am recovering well thanks to Mr spink .

Mr Spink is totally focussed even in the chaos on the wards in Hull Royal! He is calm, reassuring and professional. He treated me with respect at all times. I count myself very fortunate indeed that he was my neurosurgeon, what an asset he is. Follow up visits were prompt and always reassuring.

First and foremost the operation he performed on my spine has been a total success. Beyond that his calm and professional manner was totally reassuring. He listened, he answered every one of my numerous questions in language which was both accurate and clear. He also has a sense of humour and can share a joke - at the appropriate time. For a genius, he’s surprisingly modest.

Three months ago I was admitted to Hull Royal Infirmary as an emergency after having fallen in the garden at home and fractured two vertebrae in my neck. Thanks to Mr Spink skill and expertise and the care and kindness I received from the nursing staff I have almost full movement of my neck and it is improving all the time. During the follow up appointment Mr Spink explained clearly what had happened and how he had repaired the damage and how my recovery would progress. This eased a lot of my concerns, and it was a huge boost to be told I could contact him if I had further worries or problems. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Spink Many thanks to Mr Spink and the staff at Hull Royal Infirmary.

Excellent, excellent excellent describes the care I received from Mr Spink. Excellent advice, excellent surgeon, excellent outcome. I was fearful of surgery but Mr Spink was patient and understanding answering my many questions with honesty and giving me time to consider all my options. I truly felt he placed me at the centre of my care. Mr Spink exudes a calm confidence, I felt very safe in his care and trusted him implicitly. He is an amazing surgeon, his skill has enabled me to return to an active lifestyle and relieved me of intense, unbearable pain that had been impacting both my physical and emotional well-being. I can’t thank him enough and would always recommend him. He has given me my life back.
