From when I met Dr Spink I felt I was in safe hands. I was treated with respect and he listened to me. The subsequent surgery for sciatica was a success, totally removing the pain I had endured for two years. Throughout the entire time I was treated with great care. Dr Spink rang my husband immediately after surgery to reassure him that all had gone well. The following day Dr Spink visited me on the ward even on his day off, to make sure I was recovering well and to reassure me that the surgery had gone well. His team rang me several times during the next five weeks to check that I was ok. Five weeks after surgery Dr Spink saw me for a review, he then discharged me. From the moment I woke up from surgery the sciatica pain was gone. Now six weeks since surgery I am almost back to my usual self and pain free. Outstanding professionalism from Dr Spink.

This was my second spinal operation under Mr Spink, it being a necessary follow-up to the first one which I had two years ago. Both operations were a great success and they cured the symptoms from which I was really suffering. Throughout my journey, I have had the greatest confidence in Mr Spink in what were very critical operations. At all times he guided me through what was involved. Both before and after the operations his care was first class.

I have had an excellent experience with Mr Spink, he is professional knowledgeable and genuinely cared about my concerns, he took the time to listen and explained carefully my options, I was made to feel comfortable with the process. I had a PLIF operation and am very happy with the outcome.

I had been in severe back pain for a number of years and having gone down the route of various treatments including steroid injections and then Nerve ablation (which helped temporarily) the pain became so intense I knew I needed to look for a reputable surgeon. I identified Mr George Spink through my research and by speaking to people who had been treated by him as one of the best neurosurgeons. When I first met George Spink I liked him straight away. He was kind courteous and caring and he listened to my long list of questions which he answered professionally sympathetically and with understanding and he was very open and honest in his responses. After a few meetings with him I took the next step and decided to go ahead with the surgery which was carried out at The Spire in Anlaby. My treatment was impeccable by the Spire and its staff and of course by George Spink. The procedure was to fuse L4 & L5 of my spine and remove the disc and replace it with a titanium cage and screws. Also a large cyst was removed. He visited me prior to my surgery and after the surgery and held my hand while he explained everything had gone well. He also visited me the following morning before I left the hospital. I am now nerve pain free and am able to get on with my life again. I owe it to the care, consideration and skill of George Spink. He is a truly gifted surgeon and has given me my life back and I can dance again.. I would whole heartedly recommend George Spink to anyone considering treatment of this nature. Catherine Lewak

Good surgeon and very friendly, just shame about the care received whilst in private hospital,.was transferred to NHS under same surgeon and care was fantastic, Dr Spink sorted out appointments/procedures and I was seen very quickly every time. Although it took 8 operations to sort out my CSF leak due to being a complex patient Dr.Spink was very understanding and ended up on first name terms.

I’m forever grateful for Mr Spink and his team. Pre surgery I could barely walk without the aid of crutches and was on a mixture of tablets for pain management. Now I’m building up my fitness and have very little of the symptoms I had pre surgery.

Excellent knowledgeable consultant who explains everything in detail. Felt very confident of successful outcome in having the back procedure carried out by Mr Spink.
