I can't speak highly enough of Mr Robertson. He carried out a laparoscopic hernia repair for me. Directly before the operation, I was extremely nervous, but he had a very calming influence on me by his reassuring, calming manner which helped to put me at ease and gave me great confidence that I was in great hands. He was very good at communicating and answering my questions patiently and thoroughly about the operation. I'm so happy and relieved that the operation has been a full success. Directly after the operation he again answered all of my questions and accurately told me what to expect for my recovery, which put my mind at rest. In the follow up appointments he patiently listened to my questions and explained about my recovery in reassuring and easy to understand terms. My recovery has proceeded according to his advice since then. In every respect I have had a brilliant experience under the care of Mr Robertson.

I had two hernias repaired by Dr Robertson, his explaination prior to the operation was very clear and concise, his presence just prior to the operation was very reassuring and the aftercare following the operation was excellent. I was able to return to normal activities (including playing golf) after 2 weeks. I cannot praise Mr Robertson, the Leicester Nuffield and the NHS enough, thank you all.

Mr Robertson was very professional but also very caring during his initial consultation, pre-operation and post operation visits. I found him approachable and easy to talk to with his experience clearly showing through in answering any of my questions without hesitation. My gall bladder removal was completely painless with a speedy recovery and I am now back to normal.

Mr. Robertson listened to my concerns at our initial meeting and explained the risks, techniques used. He satisfied my curiosity with concise details of how the operation was executed. Mr. Robertson interviewed me three times on the day of the operation. Twice before with details of the precise timing of the morning and once after it was all over to re-assure me that everything had gone to plan. There was some discomfort the evening after the operation but nothing to stop me getting a good nights sleep (I did take a couple of paracetamol). The following day was so much improved that I only needed a further two paracetamol in the morning. During the next three days I made a complete recovery without further paracetamol. On the fifth day after I remover the dressings to reveal virtually no evidence of what had taken place.
