I Have recently undergone a total hip replacement at Oaklands Hospital under the excellent care of Mr Batra, who I found to be informative, straight talking and very reassuring, putting me immediately at ease with his pleasant manner. The nursing staff were first class, always cheerful and caring, nothing being too much trouble. Phsio was extremely helpful and I am recovering well. I have no hesitation in recommending both Mr Batra and The Oaklands Hospital.

Felt his diagnosis was thorough and explained my options.Advised me to try the injections first but as it only eased the pain for a month and the knee was so bad advised the replacement but said if I didn’t want the op would discuss the options.I went for the replacement as it was getting more painful. The operation went well and I was off my crutches within a few weeks.with the help of physio advice I was soon walking and getting around normally in the day.The nights however I still have a lot of pain and stiffness as my knee locks in the one position. It was explained this was due to hip muscles needing to build up but it would improve.I was given an exercise to improve this. You have to be strict with the exercises and it is painful.I think it would be helpful if you could go to a group class at least once a week for encouragement so you feel your doing things right and are on the right path. The physios are great and explained everything you have to do but then you don’t go back for a month and you are unsure if your doing things right or progressing well enough.

Mr Batra has been excellent from our first meeting, he explained in plain English the most suitable and apt procedure for my hip replacement. From diagnosis to operation day he kept me informed every step of the way. I had the full hip replacement early February and am delighted with the improvement in the movement of my legs and hip. I would recommend Mr Batra to anybody that has problems with knees/hips

Last September i had a total knee replacement which has been a complete success. I am now pain free, scarring is minimal after care exceptional. This is one gentleman who listens, advises according to the individual and does not use conveyer belt consultancy. it is rare to find these qualities at every visit but i did.

Had total knee replacement on 16/12/21 with Mr Batra ,everything was explained to me in detail before the operation of what I could expect good and bad during the operation and post operation.my recovery started from the day after the op ,my progress was rapid which I believe was because of a number of factors number one being the op was performed succesfully as shown on xrays taken day after the op.the physios showing me stretching and bending exercises to perform and lastly my own grit and determination to work hard on my recovery through sometimes painful but vital exercise and walking regime,I was only using crutches for 3 days and after 6 weeks was walking normally(no limping) I am completely free of all pain now and can look forward to getting my life back, I am still doing a vigorous exercise regime after almost 9 weeks now but gaining strenth and flexibillity daily .would I reccomend Mr Batra most definitely,
