I can't be thankful enough for your work of art Dr. Gaurav Batra for performing ACL reconstruction surgery on my right knee. Dr. Gaurav Batra, you are always very patient and professional. Thanks a lot for the neat scar. SUPPORT Surgery- not an easy decision. November the1st, my journey starts from the theatre waiting room. I was terrified before surgery, but these wonderful people assured me, emotionally supported me, made me laugh and brought positive vibes, a beautiful attitude. These special humans made me forget where I was and I was ready to go to the theatre without fear, relax and happy to be around these amazing special humans and I was ready to give my life in their hands. In theatre, they have a very professional approach and I felt these people care about my life as well. For them it's not just a job, they put feelings into it and care about patients. Thanks a lot to Dr. Gaurav Batra, Sam- physiotherapist, Andrew, Matteu, Panos and Dr. Sharma. PAIN Some of my friends who did ACL before told me I am going to be in a lot of pain especially in the night, but it wasn't like this to me. When I woke in theatre from GA I had pain 2 out of 10. I had 1 painkiller and went home. I didn't take anything till the next day because I was no need it. My husband advised me the next day to take 2 more just in case))) At night - no pain, sleep like a baby. And it's all because Dr. Batra performed fantastic surgery on my knee. If it's done correctly, thas why no pain and done by a talented surgeon. WORRIES Before surgery, I was worry about how I am going to cope with my usual life after surgery? How I am going to look after my family, little children, my household? But after surgery, I was doing perfect. From the first night I was able to stand up and look after my children, which was my biggest worry. And its all because of Dr. Gaurav Batra talented work. EXERCISES On day 11 I back to gym and day14 - confident walker without crutches, but still using crutches to support healing OAKLAND HOSPITAL RECEPTION You feel welcome from the time you enter the hospital. Thanks to Dr Batra, I no longer have the pain and discomfort I suffered on a daily basis. I have seen consultant after consultant about my knee; I was starting to consider the fact I would just need to put up with this pain for years to come. I'm so thankful for the care I have received. This has had such a positive impact on my life.

I first saw Mr. Batra in 2018 with pain in my right knee but didn't feel it was severe enough for a knee replacement at that time so we agreed on a cortisone injection which helped me considerably for several months. However, earlier this year the pain increased which was affecting both my sleep and walking any distance. We agreed on a total knee replacement which took place in July and I was able to return home two days after the operation. Mr. Batra and the staff treated me with dignity, listened to me and gave me excellent care both during my hospitalisation and visits to outpatients. Very happy with the knee replacement which healed quite quickly. I have a further appointment for a 6 month check up and I believe this will be followed up again at the 12 month point. Thanks to everyone concerned.

I came to see Mr Batra with severe knee pain. He listened to everything and gave me his professional opinion that if I lost some weight it would help the knee and surgery should be last resort as I was still young (46). I explained I had use diets before but not worked again after listening again he explained how I could loose weight, showing a overflowing bath tub and explaining the relevance to me, putting to much food in causes the problem. I went away a little sceptical with this idea to reduce calories I take in to see if this would help my knee. Well 3 months later I came back to see Mr Batra again 3 stone / 20kg lighter. He had not only removed the knee pain but improved my quality of life, because of him I now exercise regularly and weight is still reducing cannot thank him enough for his help.
