Reviews
Listened to any problems I presented and presented a method of care which was easy to understand and worked fantastically. Very punctual, friendly and respectful. Highly recommend!
The complexity of my Thyroid condition meant that local Consultants recommended that I travel to Peterborough to seek treatment from Mr Amen; it is apparent, therefore, that his surgical skills are of the highest order. From our first meeting to the final post-operative review, Mr Amen has been caring, courteous, perceptive and diligent. It has been a privilege and a moving experience to receive such considerate and technically brilliant treatment. With sincere and deepest gratitude, James Billett.
The service that I received from Mr Amen and his team was absolutely first rate. I was particularly impressed with the way that when I was finished with one professional the next was ready to see me with hardly any waiting in between times. My operation went ahead very smoothly. There was a waiting period after my arrival at the treatment centre prior to going into the operating theatre. After the operation my care was excellent and all the staff were extremely attentive and made quite sure that I experienced as little pain as possible. I rapidly recovered and returned home after 3 days. I was made aware of all symptoms that I might experience during my recovery and Mr Amen was extremely informative. I suffered extreme constipation during my recovery and it would have been helpful if I had been given some laxatives prior to my discharge from the treatment centre and had similar medication to take home with me. Starting radiotherapy was uneventful but just walking from car park 1 to the radiotherapy clinic I found absolutely exhausting. I had anticipated this and fortunately I managed to obtain a blue badge. Unfortunately there were very few blue badge places near to the radiotherapy clinic and we had to take pot luck with my appointments. This inconvenience was minor compared to the excellent treatment that I received at the hands of the radiotherapy staff. They were very courteous and professional always checking to see if I had any discomfort. During the whole period I had regular telephone calls from various members of Mr Amen's team to check up on my progress. All appointments during this busy period were carried out punctually and efficiently by all members of staff. The final check up that I had with Mr Amen was very though and all my questions were answered. All in all an excellent performance by Mr Amen and his team.
Dr Amen has been absolutely excellent throughout my daughter's care. He always makes sure she is included in the conversation which has been really important for her as she is only small and was initially very nervous. Dr Amen performed 2 operations, one grommet fitting and one grommet, tonsil, adenoid removal and I couldn't fault the care. He was even available to speak to me on the phone when I was nervous about procedures during covid. Mabel now looks forward to her appointments with Dr Amen which, for a 6 year old girl visiting hospital, really speaks for itself.
I had a total thyroid removal 8 weeks ago. The care I received from Peterborough hospital previous to the operation was excellent. The operation went very well and I made a quick recovery. I felt very confident in Mr Furrat Amen and all his team ,and I would highly recommend
