Written by a patient at Cumberland Infirmary

I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, stage Dukes 3. As one of Jehovah's witnesses, I informed Mr Hinson that I would not accept blood as part of my treatment. Following a brief discussion with Mr. Hinson, he assured me that he would respect my wishes. Following a course of radio and Chemo therapy, the tumour was reduced sufficiently to permit general surgery. Mr. Hinson performed the surgery to the highest degree of care. During my hospital stay of 17 days, Mr. Hinson visited me almost daily. His personal attention was fantastic. Four and a half years later, I am most grateful to Mr. Hinson and his team for their care and understanding of my circumstances. Mr. Hinson views caring for the person rather than just treating the illness is most important. Thank you Frank. You saved my life.
