I was fortunate enough to have had Mr Pereira for two relatively recent operations. The first was a brain operation involving the implant of a deep brain stimulation device to aid my Parkinsons. The second was a back operation to rectify a slipped disc. In both cases the operations were successful . At the outset Mr Pereira was clear about the risks involved and his open, warm and knowledgeable manner gave me the confidence that i was in the right hands. Following on from the operation Mr Pereira's genuine concern for the patient continues. I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

My life has been transformed following deep brain stimulation for tremor In July by Erlick Pereira and his team after years of suffering and increasing disability which was insidiously invading my quality of life and my ability to carry out the small but important tasks which make up every day living.. I am Irish so going to another jurisdiction was daunting for both my family and me. I needn’t have worried. The care , kindness and expertise blew me away and I felt completely safe from the get go at the admissions desk at London Clinic. I’m genuinely so grateful to this Team for giving me my life back- so reassuring, so skillful and so respectful of my needs. It’s the first time ever I have felt PART of the Surgical Team- this wasn’t a“we will do this and we know best”, rather it was a collaborative effort which , ensured every one relevant was kept in the loop at all times- not least the patient and my family. We were literally all in this together.. This is the World Class medicine as it should be. I cannot adequately express my gratitude to this Team, Dr Pereira , Professor Aziz, Dr Amy and Dr Paviour. Their willingness to be available and reassuring to me on any concerns is beyond any description I can come up with. I’m cured, I’m anazed, I’m so grateful. Needless to say I’m still recovering from significant brain surgery but that just takes time and rest. This Team and this surgery are at the cutting edge of a surgical innovation which can quite literally transform people’s lives. I have no other words except THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART AND I WANT TO SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS.

Mr Pereira is one of the best doctors I ve ever dealt with. Very caring, very thoughtful and with meticulous attention to detail. He helped me go through my disc prolapse with compassion and understanding, he did not rush to operate me (like many doctors would opt to in his place for obvious reason) but he gave me the guidance and time for my body to recover a tonne on its own before we re-evaluate. I am extremely grateful for his support and happy I heard him all the way through.

I was an inpatient of the London clinic in June 2019 . I met Mr Pereira on the morning of the 4th of June, the day of my surgery for deep brain stimulation for chronic pain. Having previously consulted with Professor Aziz regarding my treatment, I must say both these brilliant surgeons put me and my family at ease from the first day that I met them. They went into great detail explaining what to expect from my surgery and how it was going to help me. They both felt that I would achieve 40 percent reduction in pain, and also a reduction in my emotional reaction to the pain, and I would say 4 months down the road my pain is at least 40 percent reduced which for me is a miracle. While I know the pain is still there, it’s not taking over my life. I can honestly say I don’t know myself since I have had this surgery, I am finally in control of my life again. I am now practically off all my pain meds and vowing never to go back on them again . The care I received in the London clinic was second to none. The whole team looked after me so well, from the surgeons to the anesthesiologist, who came to see me every day. to Patrick the nurse who was in contact with me and my family each day, the whole team really helped to ease the pressure on us all at a very traumatic time and kept my family informed along the way. While I’m still in pain and still learning about the DBS and how it’s affecting me, my thought process is much clearer and my quality of life has greatly improved and my hopes for the future are a lot brighter. I am very grateful to these wonderful surgeons for their amazing abilities. John

I was referred to Mr Pereira for 3 prolapsed cervical discs. Following an epidural, the pain was still significant and surgery appeared to be the next viable option. Mr Pereira explained that the procedure would be complicated given that 3 discs were involved and that there were risks involved in moving ahead with this. We agreed to further nerve conduction tests prior to rushing into a decision to operate and these turned out to be normal and that we should wait a further 6 weeks to see if the pain would subside and any improvements would be made. Miraculously, 6 weeks later I was in no pain and completely thankful that surgery was not needed (in the short term anyway). Mr Pereira's caution was much appreciated as I'm sure many surgeons would have gone ahead as was originally thought. He explained every detail with clarity and I felt completely reassured that he had my best interests at heart. I would thoroughly recommend his skills to any patient requiring neuro advice/treatment.
