Mr Pereira put me at ease and was very clear. One of the first doctors who has listened to me properly and taken the time to get to know me. 5 stars *****

My medical problem started with muscular pain in my shoulder and neck but worsened quickly to the point where I could not walk and support my head properly. I lost the use of my arm and my bowels and bladder could not function. I was admitted to Kingston Hospital via their A&E Dept and and X-rays and a scan showed I had a severe spinal collapse between the fourth and fifth vertebrae (top of the spine) where the disc had crumbled and I was in danger of my spinal cord being severed. I was swiftly transferred to St George's Hospital at Tooting and placed under Dr Pereira's care. Dr Pereira carefully explained the cause of my problems and the operation he intended carrying out. He wrote down the procedure as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion and explained how a collar would be inserted. The operation was successful and within days I could walk with the aid of a frame and after neuro physio sessions and home exercise I am doing exceedingly well and cannot thank Dr Pereira enough for saving my life and restoring my health.

I had C5/6 cervical disc replacement surgery performed by Mr Pereira at The London Clinic in May 2018. Firstly I was struggling to accept I actually needed surgery to decompress my spinal cord (since my symptoms were very minimal), and secondly I was finding it very hard to decide between fusion (ACDF) and disc replacement. I had been advised by a number of people to seek out a neurosurgeon for cervical spine surgery rather than an orthopaedic surgeon and that's why I chose Mr Pereira. He could not have been more helpful (and patient!) in assisting me in making my decision and putting me at my ease. Two months down the line I am making great progress, healing well and am very pleased I went ahead with disc replacement surgery. I can't recommend Mr Pereira highly enough, not least for his obvious surgical ability, but also for his approachability and reassuring nature. Many thanks indeed to Mr Pereira and his team.

I had a prolapsed L5/S1 Disc which was treated through Microdiscectomy on 26/03/2018. I was worried because there wasn't a lot of reviews from people that were as young as me to have had the condition. Therefore i was very nervous going into the procedure. The care i got from Mr. Erlick Pereira and the staff at Atkinson Morley Wing, St George's Hospital was beyond my imagination. Mr. Pereira was very informative in my consultation meeting before the operation, answering my questions and explaining the procedure and it's risks and benefits. The operation was a success and slowly i am getting back to my active lifestyle. On the day of the surgery Mr. Pereira and his team took great care of me and checked up on me regularly before and after the operation. They were very sympathetic and patient. The staff on the Wing were very caring, not only to me but others in the ward as well. They took their time with each patient, checking up on them regularly and making sure everything was in order. They were approachable and also had a laugh with the patients. Its easy to say that i have never experienced or seen care/service like this in my life. For anyone who is considering or has been referred to Mr. Pereira and his team have nothing to worry about as i am sure you will get the best care possible.

Mr Pereira and his expert team performed DBS surgery for my aunt who suffers from Parkinson's. The team were approachable, caring and empathetic to our family's specific concerns and took great care of us. Mr Pereira clearly explained the surgery and was very patient with any questions we may have had.The surgery was a success with the electrodes placed in an optimal position, thus allowing my aunt to regain the best function from the electrode stimulation. The aftercare has also been excellent, with the the team just a phone call away should we have any concerns. We are very grateful for the excellent care we have received from Mr Pereira and the St George's Functional neurosurgery team. I thoroughly recommend them.
