Mr Pereira chose, with caution and excellent sense the correct operation for me, when the alternative that he had actually opened me up for was first on the cards. He made an on the spot decision, despite having all the bits and bobs ready for the planned operation, that saved me from pain, discomfort and essentially a failure of an operation. He then kept me under his care, seeing me until the time was right for the correct operation. This he conducted, having fully explained everything so that I was in full possession of the facts, before and after. he saw me the day after the operation, explaining he thought it had gone very well and he was hopeful of a good result. The operation, on my lower spine, worked. For the fist time in years I am free from crippling back pain. I saw Mr Pereira for my follow up appointment and he really did seem genuinely pleased it had worked. And, to make sure, he ordered further x rays, keeping me under his charge until we are fully sure things had worked. I felt assured and comforted by his professionalism and manner. He has, without doubt, the most reassuring manner of the all the many surgeons I have had to deal with. I trust him, as proven by his sharp decision to abort the planned operation when he judged things were not right at the very late stage of peering into me! I thoroughly recommend this neurosurgeon.
