I had cleft lift off midline surgery for pilonidal sinus with Dr Carapeti in July. I have to say having read online about the open procedure, the typical procedure for pilonidal sinus (and being advised by 2 NHS doctors that this was the best approach), i was pretty terrified of the recovery phase/ risk of recurrence. Some people were talking about 6 months off work - an NHS doctor told me someone's open wound hadn't fully healed after 18 months. I did my research and found Dr Carapeti - he was very helpful, explained everything in the run up, and the surgery went great. I had 2 weeks off work but not much pain, no packing of wound required, and within 2 weeks i was running and exercising. Within 6 weeks, i've just played my first game of football. I could not be happier with this - please do your research!

Emin Carapeti is absolutely fantastic. I would recommend him to anyone. He is very friendly, explains everything and was very thorough. Do not hesitate to see him, he is a true professional in his field. I had a haemorrhoidectomy. A very painful recovery but he explained that to me so I was prepared and I was given strong painkillers as he knew I’d need them. He was just brilliant.

Dr Carapeti is truly a master in his field. The team at London Bridge hospital was fantastic as well. I am certainly more than happy to highly recommend him. I’ve been listened, professionally guided and adviced, with the most satisfactory result. Many thanks.

Mr Carapeti was superb from start to finish - honest and straightforward and I got the impression that he really cared that I was healing in the manner that I should have been. I had an extensive, infected pilonidal sinus excised and mended with a (large) rhomboid flap. I have not spoken with many people who have had similar treatment so I can't compare, but I knew from the outset that I was in safe hands. I followed his instructions re: post-op care/routines very closely and stayed virtually bed-bound for 2 weeks before going back to work - even then I was very careful for another 2-3 weeks. It paid off and I healed in a fairly linear fashion - one very small part of the large wound (~30 stitches) stayed open for longer than the rest and Mr Carapeti saw me a number of times to ensure that it did not worsen, and ultimately fully healed. Don't get me wrong, if given a choice, I would choose not to have had the condition and not to have needed his help! But seeing as that wasn't an option, the care I received under Mr Carapeti was second-to-none. I cannot recommend this surgeon enough for his professionalism, his no-nonsense attitude, and his skill. 11/10.

Dr Carapeti is amazing. An pre-eminent expert in his field, and looked up to by his peers, I feel incredibly lucky to be in his care. He always goes the extra mile to make sure every option is explored to ensure you have the best care and chance of recovery. He must deal with thousands of seriously ill patients each year so I am not surprised he got dismayed with the ski trip questions! Having access to one of the best doctors in Europe is a complete blessing, I feel very to have his time and focus.
